I think it's Canadian.

My gambling goal for the year is to try to qualify for the Horseplayers World Series.

It’s held at the Orleans in March.

They do have some unusual events. I went to The World Series of Police Dogs or whatever it is called last year, and just attended a night of martial arts competitions that had Uriah Faber and some other MMA guys in it. Didn't understand the rules at all.

I stumbled upon the Twitter feed for The Orleans, and whoever is in charge of their social media deserves a raise!

So much video poker/slot porn, great shots of food, and natural photos of people having fun. And not the staged, professionally photographed kind. Just like something a friend would send.

Makes me want to visit!

I've just been there recently during covid, still pretty lively for a local casino.

Slayven,

Could you expand on what is open when in the Orleans in terms of restaurants, sports books, coffee shop and so on?

The Orleans was one of my staple hangouts pre-covid. I probably stay there a dozen nights a year, but not in 2020. Last time I was there was during the locust-fest invasion.

I love the Orleans bar behind the sports book. Had an interesting experience maybe three years ago riding the elevator at 6 AM with a couple of working girls. Probably too R-rated for this post.

It's probably lively this week, with the US Figure Skating Championships over at Orleans Arena. It was originally scheduled for San Jose before Santa Clara County pretty much locked itself down, which is why the 49ers played their home games in Arizona.

This is WoV. As long as they weren’t screaming about Trump or Biden you can pretty much mention anything else!
