Cool article. I stay in MSS almost exclusively and love the Hawaiians, both the migrants who decided to stay and work there and the tourists. Nothing beat the feeling of making four points at a craps table full of older Hawaiians who looked like they were discounting the 'white kid' originally but quickly became the friendliest of strangers.

Just made a reservation at the California
One of the only downtown casinos I have never stayed at
I read up some things on this property and glad I booked it
Redwood steakhouse just had a major renovation
They built a brand new bar with VP, the Holo Holo bar
They also built a new sports book and lounge
Looking forward to my stay 24dec-27dec
Vital Vegas has pictures of this and other new stuff downtown

My former best friend has a thing for Polynesian girls. It was fun watching him troll them at the California. What he never figured out was girls attracted to American men wouldn't be in a bar full of Polynesians.

Got to wonder why the Cal has 2X odds when MSS, its adjoining sister property, has much higher odds?
I always take a meal at the Cal, usually rice, chicken, beef and spam in the lower level, by the entrance door.

That snack bar is gone. It's sad because the food was pretty good.

I wonder about this too. Is it to encourage play at Main Street since that location is so out of the way?

And the way they store their beer is terrible. The one I had was definitely skunky thanks to the light and water bath. Label looked like crap too.
You mean you don't want to play 97.68% Double Bonus Deuces Wild (best game) there? :P Don't blame you, I would rather play it at Cosmo's Sports Book bar too...haha
