Quote: GWAEI was confident that I could eat that much food but after todays lunch I am not sure. My boss took me out for all you can eat sushi today so we had a contest. I ate 58 pieces of sushi, egg roll, chinese donut, 3 cokes, 12 pieces of shrimp cocktail, and a big bowl of ice cream. I am not sure how that would stack up to 100 nuggets but I feel like hell now. However, it was free lunch and I won the contest so I get a 2nd free lunch.
Challenge?Quote: djatcI can actually eat this much, still I did horrible during the nugget challenge. It's all about eating the same type of food, as well as something that is greasy.
Quote: GWAEI have been saying for years that I am overweight because that part of the brain that tells me I am full does not work. I can literally eat until my stomach hurts. I don't stop because I am full, I stop because I am in pain. Now obviously I don't always eat like this, just at buffets and parties. As soon as I get my blood pressure back under control I am going to take a test run at the nuggets.
Dude, if you have blood pressure issues, or really any health issues, I would suggest NOT attempting any kind of competitive eating, for the sake of your health and your family!
challenge? why don't you just fight Steve Urkel.Quote: rudeboyoiHead to head sushi challenge? Me vs DJ.
Man vs Food. whats the point if he eats 1 and you eat 2?

Then id win. Call it a competition then if you'd like. We both ate around the same number of nuggets. We both like sushi.
40 and 30 the same number? 99 percent and and 94% are the same on VP as well I guess.Quote: rudeboyoiThen id win. Call it a competition then if you'd like. We both ate around the same number of nuggets. We both like sushi.
I would like to see one of you eat what GWAE claimed.
I will bet the NO fo sho

I thought he was 32. I was more like 37. 38-40 I just forced down to finish that box for completions sake.
Assuming the average size of each as described,do you think you can eat this?

No. Ice creams gross.
Replace it with something similar.Quote: rudeboyoiNo. Ice creams gross.

I don't believe I can do it. Ice creams gross was just a joke.
Quote: djatcWe should all meet up for AYCE sushi. Perhaps it will be a challenge or not, who knows but I am down for sushi.
I go to Makino on Decatur and Flamingo every trip in to Vegas. I will meet up with anyone and everyone who wants to go, October 15 -19.
No challenge for me, but I'll ref if there are two combatants.

sounds like you have a great boss!

Mine literally works in some kind of massive delay. 2 hours is not enough. Once it kicks in, I'm good. However, I can "still be full" after eating a lot the evening before and not want breakfast at all.
Quote: odiousgambitsounds like you have a great boss!
I do have a great boss. I work for a small company and I am underpaid by industry standards but I love my work and have tons of freedom, flexibility, and no stress. Sometimes it is a nice trade off, and sometimes I wish I chose the other route where I was overpaid and could blow $1000 at a casino and not bat an eye.

Yes that is exactly how I am. After eating a meal like this I generally won't eat until either lunch or dinner the next day.

Maybe "bite" wasn't the best word, but in the negotiations in the car he said he would get the hamburger entirely within his mouth in ten seconds and then eat it, like Bluto did in Animal House.

Quote: AxelWolfTheres a documentary series (seven deadly sins I believe its called ?). On the Gluttony episode they talk in depth about the Heart Attack Grill and the owner in Vegas.
I applaud the HAG (Heart Attack Grill)
Hurrah to any company that tells you straight on, what's up.
Truth in advertising.
I just want to try a regular burger there soon. I used to be a big time hamburger guy and it was my favorite food. Nothing fancy, just a good mom and pop burger shack type tasty burger.Quote: rxwineI applaud the HAG (Heart Attack Grill)

I haven't been there either and it is definitely a place I will try once. I like the concept and glad they are still in business. I was worried they would only make it a year.
Perhaps I'll give it a test run with about 40 or 50 nuggets, but it will have to be after the new year. I'm currently cutting weight for an MMA fight. With burger king having 10 for $1.49, I'll have to compare size to ensure they're the same as McDonalds =p. If I do give it a test run, I might take a video. No promises, but we'll see.
Quote: RomesI'll have to compare size
but also how they differ. Seem unlikely to be more edible for a lower price lol

Your cousin's boyfriend did it better than Belushi did in "Animal House:" see at 0.42: scarfing it down .
Upon closer review, Belushi took a few bites, which your buddy didn't, and it looks like there was no hamburger meat in the bun John scarfed, just some mystery filler stuff.
Oh well, so much for legendary film screen moments.
Quote: beachbumbabsBurger King nuggets are little cuts of chicken breast. McD's are reconstituted chicken jelly. Big difference.
Yes, but it is white meat chicken jelly and it tastes fantastic.
This is hard to admit as a grown man, I love McDonald's chicken nuggets. I probably only eat fast food about once a year but every time I drive passed a McD's I crave a ten piece and a french fry. Thankfully I have self control when it comes to junk food.
He isn't a forum member but I've hung out with Christopher several times and is a potential in-law of mine. We're in the early stages of working out the details but I think we have a challenger #5.
p.s. It is looking like the challenge will take place sometime in January in Huntington Beach.

Keep us updated, and if it becomes official I'd vote to start a new thread =p. I'd love to get in on the action this time, and hopefully with 4 failed attempts, the handicapping will be a bit more accurate =).
So, Mr. Wizard, what would your ruling/conversion be on Burger King nuggets? Do you think they'd be a fair 'estimate' to rule if one could even eat 50+ (for a trial run), or would one need to stick to the primary McD's nuggets?

I believe I read that BK's nuggets are about 10% bigger than McD's.

They aren't as good as McD's, too dry. Not enough texture,
I gave them to the dog and he loved them.

Where is Huntington Beach and any casino's nearby?
Huntington Beach is in Southern California. There are some card clubs nearby (corporation/player banked card games with commission), and some Tribal casinos (slots and VP, but only "card" craps, and "card" roulette) within a 90 minute drive.Quote: terapinedWhere is Huntington Beach and any casino's nearby?

Let's get consensus on his qualifications. I think it was generally agreed that contenders would need to demonstrate that they could eat at least 50 McDonald's McNuggets to be considered. However, the way he polished off the burger, and his self-reported history with all you can eat wings, makes me think he could easily finish 50 McNuggets. so I would be okay with him moving directly to the Challenge.
If it is agreed that he has to do the 50 first, I think a fun wager might be "How much time will it take him to finish 50?"
Time to move these posts to a new "CMC5" thread
Quote: PerditionFor the Burger King 10 nuggets for 1.49, the size is decent but the catch is they make you buy your own sauces at 25 cents a package.
Not when I had them last week. They happily offered sauce without me asking, and then gave two packs.

I suggested that he try to do 40 on his own as a test run and he wrote back "ok." I agree that I'd like to see him do at least 50 easily before I get everybody's hopes up again.
I love this site. So many interesting topics!

Well, I was trying to get a comparison of McD's to BK's so I could get a semi accurate test run of 50. I wanted the Wizards opinion on if they were comparable or not so I didn't waste time/money/etc.
I'm talking about the type that the reality show host, I forget his name, used to undertake to beat on a regular basis.
Not that eating 100 chicken McNuggets is easy: far from it.
Just wondering if there might be an alternative eating challenge available locally.
My suggestion: if such a challenge is available and the venue is on or near the strip, perhaps WoVCon 2015 could occur there, with the trencherman challenge supplementing the trivia challenge.

Are you thinking of Adam Richman's "Man vs. Food" show? He did the 6 lb. burrito at the NASCAR Cafe when they were still open. Apparently, there is also a Hash House a Go Go and a Hot N Juicy Crawfish challenge that he has attempted in Las Vegas.
