Hey Y'all,

Two years ago I was dumb enough to bring my son and two of his friends to Vegas for his 21st. They were pretty easy.... Their own room, some money to play and a friends hook up for them at the Playboy Club (I WAS smart enough to stay at the MGM and play rather then try to keep up with them) was all it took to keep them busy.

Not being one to learn from my mistakes, my wife and I were dumb enough to agree to bring our daughter and [ugh!] FOUR of her friends in March for her birthday. We're gonna shop the rooms between MGM and the evil empire...unless someone has a better suggestion...and gonna try a cirque show. So, my question;

I thought someone had mentioned a discount ticket kiosk somewhere in town (or online) that we could save some money using. Any thoughts?

Thanks for your help!

Naturally, I'm kidding... Both great kids with fun friends!

Yeah, there are discount ticket kiosks, but they only
have what they have available.

I think Southwest is/was running a pkg where you
can get a couple of show tix with your vacation
pkg. Are you flying or driving out ?

Tix4Tonight -- they have multiplied locations up and down the Strip -- there is one at the Hawaiian Marketplace near MGM, and further up on the Flamingo-Harrah's corridor there are like six. Day of and one day before only. For Cirque, they often only have Ka/Viva Elvis/Zumanity/Believe (the secondary Cirque shows). For Love/Mystere/O you will often end up paying full price, but sometimes those go on sale as well.

The Southwest package does not include any of the primary Cirque shows.

If you sent your son to the Playboy Club, why not treat your daughter and your wife to Chippendales at the Rio? Or Thunder from Down Under?

Well, I thought about it, but I didn't want them to be disappointed with the guys...my wife sees me walk around the house without a shirt all the time so.........[grin].

Thanks everyone for the info. My local connection told me that the Mystere shows would probably be full price and since we'd want 7 seats together I just got them thru their website.

As a side note - two years without a visit (we've stayed on the East Coast or Bahamas) and MGM won't give me any kind of room comp..."Perhaps at the end of your stay we could go over your play...." How about the fact that these girls are gonna spend money like crazy (theirs and mine, I'm sure), 3 rooms, drinks, nightclub, late night food, at least one big meal together a day and on and on. They used to give us three nights free in the West Wing - now you go away a while and you've got to start all over. The funny part is it made us look outside MGM totally. I liked what I saw at TI on-line. Any opinions about the actual rooms?

I believe you, but recently a friend of ours got tix to KA in a Southwest package.

Exactly how much extra that was for the tix, I don't know.

Well for a special occaision, I would suggest checking out Planet Hollywood
TOWERS on-line. Then if you like what you see, look for a good rate on
BOOKIT.com. PHT is our current new favorite place to stay.

I've stayed at TI before, the rooms were nice, but typical in terms of
size. Nothing wrong with them, but nothing super special either in
my opinion. TI does have a very nice buffet.

21? I wouldn't have done it, but thats just me.

eewwwww, gotta disagree here. Depends on your definition of buffet I guess. But everything is held behind glass so you point to stuff and the girl back there gets it for you, even the salad bar. Why can't I pick out my own chunks of lettuce or dessert cookies? Only a few items were self-serve, like rice. Limit of 2 pieces of sushi per trip, out of the four choices offered. No lemons for tea. NOT my idea of a buffet. If you want to spend comp points, go to Cantor's Deli instead.

No problems Bob...just a little self-deprecating humor. They had a great time and so did I.

We took our daughter with us to Vegas when she
was 24 and she was bored to death. I felt responsible,
who can be bored in Vegas? It was a terrible trip. WE
would finish lunch and hit the tables and she would
take a nap. We'd finish dinner and she'd go to the room
and watch TV for hours. She thinks casinos are dumb,
go figure.

To each his (her) own !

I get very bored in LV if I have reached my
overall trip loss limit. But at least I stick to
my overall trip loss limit.
