Can you ask a host at the hotel you're staying at to get you tickets to something at another casino? I.E. staying at the Palazzo but asking your host to get you tickets to Penn & Teller at the Rio. I don't mean get them comp'd, we'd pay for them. I'm just asking if it's easier that way or is that considered bad taste for them?

Not only is it not in bad taste , but my host jumps at the chance to get something like that.done. Of course, I rarely ask, so maybe that's why he's eager , but the worst yours can do is say no.

Most concierge services in major places (I consider vegas one though they're hosts) swap out event tickets regardless of property , because all of them want to provide for their guests. They keep track among themselves. I'd say you had a very good chance at getting helped, if not comped on them.
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.
