Funded by Russian Billionaires so shadowy they are non-existent, a huge development will take place that will restructure the city, will include new hotels, new casinos, a new airport. New, Huge, buy advertizing now.

Brought to you by the very imaginative folks at Fantazmus Studios... see the Eurasia Complete Resort Development program now.

Only in Las Vegas, the town you thought was tiring of HYPE.

".The Eurasia Resort project is expected to create 450,000 new jobs for Las Vegas, eliminating Las Vegas unemployment. The Eurasia Resort project will have 15 million square feet of retail shopping space, making it the world's largest shopping mall."

I have to tell you a story... there was this random shooter.... oops wrong story.

Here's the story:

About TWENTY YEARS AGO a couple of developers called me up and pitched me a "news story" which they wanted me to put on TV. Why? Because if it was on TV they'd have an easier time getting investors and their money. I knew that and they knew that I knew that. That's why developers announce plans for big projects.

Their project was to be a giant shopping mall in metropolitan LA by a busy freeway. But I told them I wouldn't do the story until there were signs that they were really going to have this massive shopping mall.

They showed me all sorts of things on paper... but never anything "real."

After I turned them down for the tenth time, they actually went and hired a grader (big piece of equipment) and an operator, and had him drive back and forth over the same twenty-foot wide strip of ground right by the freeway just so people could see "work" being done. Nothing besides that twenty-foot wide strip was ever graded.

I refused to put the story on my business report.

That was twenty years ago.

The property is still vacant.

NEXT STORY > Following Is a Test Release
Eurasia Will Build World's Largest Mall, Convention Center and Private Jet Airport In Las Vegas

I can't help but wonder if that "Next Story" link is referring to the story immediately below, or a different article...

Edit: Actually going to the website linked in the article-- what on earth am I looking at!?

Depends upon which you care to gaze upon:

The 15 page press release,
The 83 page press release,
or my one-word summary: HYPE.

It all boils down to the fact that you can blink your eyes in perfect safety: the new airport and new casinos and new shopping center will not be arriving over night. Matter of fact they won't be coming at all. Just the HYPE.

I actually meant this page, http://eurasialasvegas.com/, mentioned in the news article.

Awful, awful design and it's just downright perplexing about what kind of message it's trying to convey.

What a load of horsecrap.

"A collection of spectacular hotels and residences, sensational spas, astonishing dining and extraordinary shopping."

Thats a recent blurb for City Center, not the Eurasia hype.
City Center is going broke, what could a new project
possibly have to bring in the tourists. There are new
casinos being opened every day in the US and each one
bleeds a little more business away from Vegas. No new
mega resort will save it, Vegas is a 'remember when' city
now, and it happened almost overnight.
