I hope he returns as well. I stayed up last night to open the cell door at 12:00a or so (3am here)....though I was also watching and learning on the WSOP livestream. He has signed on during his "staycation" a couple times, so it's to be hoped he will continue.

Thou dost accuse too much; 2F is not anybody's sockpuppet. The last several weeks have seen you poking a lot of sticks in a lot of peoples' eyes. It has become a sport for you (and perhaps a source of prop bets for you and others), but is very disorienting and upsetting for new members to be accused of sockpuppetry walking in the door (so to speak). It's also making this forum an unwelcoming place, as I've been told privately by several members, both new and not, disrupting the flow of conversation and making people uncomfortable. Either the accounts are SP's or they're not, but the truth will have to come out without you guarding the door publicly. Stand down, or I will have to consider it trolling and act appropriately. You're valued here, but so are new members, and what you're doing isn't working. Thanks.

This isn't uncommon. Norm's forum (BJTF) has a large post count in the "Bannings" thread. Another forum I used to be on -- it was also the same way.

I noticed you posted this here only because someone pointed it out to me via text a few days ago. I'm not sure how I missed reading it here before. That simple PM would've been enough. I actually wrote most of this before today, but didn't post it up after rethinking but I saved it via PM to myself. Since then I noticed other people doing the same thing you admonished me for.(of course its obvious who this guys was) and it had been pointed out to me, so its irritating me now. Especially since i have been asked a few times about your post to me.

Only the sock puppets eyes. And I have been correct about everyone of them being a sock-puppets, they have all been banned except for the latest most obvious one that ya'll haven't gotten yet. (until just now so it seems)

If not for me informing Administration, everybody probably would've still been getting bad advice from a fake host. Potentially with undesirable consequences. When My friend djatc and a few other i personally like asked him a question, that really pissed me off. Perhaps I should've just told people I know privately and let everyone else who believed take their chances.

Yes it is, it ran off AOS, he cost Maxpen money, he prank phone called and spoofed numbers, he terrorized the forum, pretended to be other people, stalked AOS, made up incredible lies (one involving death of a friend/coworker) I got suspended for joking he was gay, yet he all but admitted he was gay, under a sock-puppet name.
Oh! you mean me accurately pointing out sock-puppets, liars and possible con artist stalkers is making this forum an unwelcoming place? Only for the sympathizers and fiction lovers.
Anybody complaining obviously enjoys having sock-puppets, liars and welshers on the forum. Perhaps they use them themselves or love BS. You seem to have a soft spot for people like B79, you've been defending him from day one and thought he was legitimate. Perhaps whatever contact you had with him, he convinced you he was a innocent victim. Maybe he was charming enough to fool you. He fooled AOS and Max(Both intelligent people) So are you, but I don't think you escaped the situation unbiased. Obviously you still have to do your moderator job and when push came to shove you did what you had to do. Neutrino was an another example of symphony. I think you're a good moderator with a big heart and there's nothing wrong with that but They are the people causing the problem.

What affect will it have on someone legitimately new, but doesn't realize someone may be full of Sh*T?

Why are admins (well, specifically one) always defending these trolls? When people say "don't feed the trolls" that means not to respond to them and whatnot. But isn't allowing these trolls to continue doing what they're doing also feeding them?
We need admins who know what they're doing....not ones that don't care about the well being of our community and care more about political correctness.

Nobody wants to dissuade new members to join, as doing so would cause the forum as a whole to die out. A healthy skepticism is never a bad thing when this sort of repeat behaviour is seen on a regular basis though.

That's correct and there are those still who would contest that we don't take that mentality far enough.

And they would occasionally take out a new member who just has an odd affect- or just got off to bad interaction, if they do it on strong suspicion.
What do you think they should do if they don't have the actual proof of some sort?

I'm not lecturing anyone on anything, just simply providing my own observed input. Take it or leave it as you would anything else around here.
It happens on a regular basis, I'm quite aware. Given the regularity of the fanatics who pop up, and subsequently get banned after a plethora of drama, when would you advocate a decent time to make an appearance?
I'm not going to pretend that there aren't already the suspicious people regarding this user name as yet another alias, but I assure you, I'm not.

I was addressing your process, not whether you were right in any given case. You might re-read the PM I sent you that you read (since you bring it up, I think I can say that it included what I posted here), because it contained the entire text of what I posted in this thread; it was my preference that you heard it from me rather than come upon it here. So I don't know why someone else had to tell you to read it here.
This is an anonymous internet forum. People are free to make up lies about themselves, and it's up to the reader to believe them or not. That's just how it is. There is a great collection of experts here that refute bad information. The argument is valuable in itself, as many rumors and bad ideas get laid to rest through fact and computation. That's really what makes the threads worth retaining, with regular players asking common questions and building a library of information. If it was just a bunch of experts gassing among themselves down in the weeds, it would be much less useful to most people.
I don't disagree that posers and puppets should be exposed. The problem came when, for several days, nearly every new (and recent) member got challenged and called out just for signing up, based on a single post, a choice of name, or other non-evidence. It appeared you were tagging everything that moved just for future reference. I really appreciated that you did lay off.
And yes, I did get several PM's from several different people who were either leaving the board or considering it because of your actions. I didn't make that up. Not everybody gets your humor. And there are at least 4 people for whom there has been no proof they are other than they say they are, but have been accused based just on their making a post or picking a name.
What I'm looking for is balance. There has to be proof of sp or other bannable offense; when I or the other mods get it, we can act, but not before. I can't just go on your opinion, right as it might be in any given case. This is not me making up process; it's how I've been instructed to operate from green day 1. I've made cases that seemed obvious, but told to stand down until there was more proof. Again, that's just how it is. The other half of the balance is not to constantly hound every recent member coming in the door.
I'm going to read some more, but that's all for now.

I really don't understand this situation at all. There is a rule that is written about the post count that new members can have. None of the admins enforce it. All of the admins have the ability to edit the thread that contains the rules. If the rule is going to be blatantly ignored by sockpuppets and admins alike, then why not just remove the rule? Heck, replace it with one that bans blatant and obvious lying and we'd all be better off...

Beats me as well. Perhaps more posts leads to more evidence of other rules being broken? The ones that result in Nuclear reaction?

I've stated it twice now before Evanbob, I've been around these forums for years now. Two casinos I have worked at have used WoO as a tool for keeping up with the latest gaming news, and advantage play. Until now, I've had no reason to participate in discussion, as it interested me more to just observe. Yes, I did choose to create an account following the nuke of eagle, but I can guarantee, this isn't an alias of anyone currently or previously a member of any associated WoO of WoV boards.
