Lets say I am replying to AZ (just using you as rough example here) on page 2 of a thread. I immediately get taken to my post which is now last in the thread
I am not informed there may be one or more posts I skipped. I have to conscientiously go back sometimes several pages to see what I missed
Sometimes a reply I have given isnt even seen by the person it was meant for (as evidenced by a future post) and Im certain its because they were hop-skipped to the last page from an earlier reply they made
Or someone thinks one persons reply is meant for them when it was for another member
Isnt there some way to address this?
Quote: darkozI have noticed that post hop-skipping has led to a lot of misunderstandings and even arguments

Yes there is. Read all the posts before replying.

Is that kind of what you were thinking?
Quote: HullabalooThere are some forums I participate in that will give a warning if while you are writing a reply someone else makes a post. At that point you can check to see if it has any effect on your pending post.

Yes that would help definitely

Yeah yeah
But automating it if possible is better than snarkily telling wov members to read imo

Why would you just not read? It also makes sure you are not saying something that's already been said.

If your bookmark keeps taking you automatically to the wrong page is it wise to keep skipping througb pages sometimes rereading old pages in order to find your place?
Or do you get a different bookmark?
So damn moody today.Quote: Zcore13You have a walk standard for evidence it seems.

Although it is kinda annoying. When I check the forum there'll be like 50 new pages in the "Trump is best president" thread, I'll read a bit, then get distracted or have to go do something, then when I come back a few hours later, idk what page I last read, so I gotta sort through a bunch pages, which isn't too big of an issue, but it is kind of annoying and I just realized this may be a run on sentence. :(
