Is it possibile to unblock all blocked threads with one keystroke?

Does management have any idea of what thread is blocked by the most members? (my money is on the Hot Blond Wager)

It's definitely down to the HB wager, one of the dice control threads, or one of the political threads. I bet the decision 2012 or obamacare thread slightly edges the HB wager, since that one at least has to do with gambling. FWIW, the HB wager thread is the only one of these that I haven't blocked.

To answer you first question: No, but you should be able to move your mouse to the 'Unblock' link of the first blocked thread, and just keep clicking in that position, allowing the page to reload in between clicks.

To answer your second question, the top 5 blocked threads are:

1) Spanish word of the day
2) Gun show loophole rant
3) 2012-2013 NBA picks
4) Recipe thread
5) Casino chip of the day

Chip of the day? Wow. That's shocking.

I can understand a lack of interest, but blocked?

I block stuff I have no interest in. Especially regularly updated threads that don't appeal to me.

Don't take it as a bad thing.

I don't subscribe or receive e-mails for anything except PM's. As a result I have never blocked a thread, only posters. Right now EB is the only person I have blocked.

How much money were you willing to bet? The HB challenge was loved by all..... The other threads heavily blocked tend NOT to be gambling threads (recipe, gun, spanish word, etc...) The HB thread was the purest gambling thread this forum has ever seen.... odds, money, woman, intrigue, what more could you want?

Because there are only ten viewable threads in the preview pane of active threads, blocking a thread that comes everyday at the top that you don't read adds more veiwable realestate to that area.

Hardly loved by all. Turned into a war and caused the most suspensions of any thread. In usenet days it was called a "flame war" before that word got other meanings.

With all due respect to the HBC (which was great--I read every word), the most entertaining thread/flamewar here was the mkl654321/Jerry Logan flamewar. That was such a massively engrossing mutually-assurred destruction.

I thought that was QUITE boring actually. I can summarize it.... I'm mkl. I'm very smart. I understand math and odds. I'm Jerry Logan. I can win playing video poker using 'special plays'. No you can't. Yes I can. No you can't Yes I can. You are an idiot. No, you are an idiot. Etc.... there was little else in there, actually.

Who was Kevin Lewis? MLK654321's real name?

Are people who have been permanently banned considered to be members? I think it was determined/decreed that for the purposes of name-calling and personal attacks, posts about former members were fair game. Maybe other protections are also not afforded to former members as well?

I don't think mkl654321 was permanently banned. He was given a two-week suspension here and subsequently "permanently resigned" according to this follow-up post. My impression is that, upon request, he could be reinstated.

Fair point. I'll rephrase. Are people who are currently not members protected by the same set of rules that govern the treatment of active forum members?

It was never told to me in confidence. He posts elsewhere on the Internet as Kevin Lewis, which I assume is his real name.

On flipside, Jerry Logan's real name was Rob Singer.

Rob Singer's real name isn't Rob Singer.

I was never 100% sure Logan was Singer. I turned down the chance to meet him (Logan that is) in Vancouver when he claimed he was visiting. Wasn't worth my time and energy.

I'm not sure how long ago this was, but generally speaking, any information that a Member makes public (with exception to using it as a personal attack) could probably be repeated with impunity. If called upon, (which I am not doing in this case) then one may have to prove that the member freely and voluntarily disseminated (i.e. posted) that information, though.

For example, I acknowledged my first name and last initial in another thread when I was quoted in a gambling article, so given that acknowledgement, if anyone wanted to say that Mission146 is a guy named Pierce from Ohio, then that would be fine. (Acknowledgement + Profile says I live in Ohio)

I didn't doxx. I read Jean Scott's blog and he posts there as "K____ L____" (redacted) with the exact same video poker stuff that he posted here. Combine that with the reviews written as "K____ L." (redacted) for the Wizard's site in his own writing style and the "mkl" initials it was hard not to put 2+2 together. That said, I respect anonymity so if the moderators want to go back and delete those reference that's fine. It may have been in poor judgment to post his name, but his anonymity was never really that hidden.

Hmm? I thought Jerry Logan's shtick was that he thought no one could beat video poker, because of the narrow edges, high variance, and complicated strategies, and went off on anyone who claimed otherwise.
The trick to poker is learning not to beat yourself up for your mistakes too much, and certainly not too little, but just the right amount.

He thinks that it's not possible/worth it to beat VP in the long term. But with Rob Singer's special magic methods, it's possible to win in the short-term every time forever.
