New to video poker. I understand the best pay table for JOB is 5 coin 9/6. If the max coin is higher than 5, how do you evaluate if the the pay table is worth playing or not?

go to the payout for 1 coin in. This is where you should see 9 for full house and 6 for flush. The full pay 9/6 JoB paytables pay 800 for 1 for the royal for a typical payout of 4000 on 5 coins. Basically, all you need to do if you are sure the paytable is a full-pay machine is take the royal payout and divide it by the coin in amount.

For example, if max coin is 10 on this machine, then the payout for the royal should be at 8,000 coins. (8000/10 = 800)

Anything less than 800 and the machine is not a full pay machine. Obviously the further it deviates from that 800 mark, the worse it is.

As a word of warning, make sure that the entire paytable is correct as some casinos are getting sneaky and finding ways to tweak the table to impact their bottom line. Especially watch for payouts which only pay one for the pair AND two pair, as this will drastically affect the overall house edge.
