Ugh, Cardinals? Can you change it to a Blues logo for me?
Quote: GWAEThere are only about 1528 glen gs in the world. I would worry about it. But if you are maybe a mod can ban this name and allow you to create another.
I'd like to bet the over.
Quote: JoemanYou can try to PM one of the moderators (names in green). I think the official policy of the site is to not allow name changes, but it's possible they could make an exception.
User names could only be changed via a programming error for a couple days. This was fairly recent too. If you ask us to close the old account and let you start a new one, the answer will be "no." You are stuck with the user name you chose, I'm afraid.

I'm a Golden Knights fan. Maybe ill change it to that..just baseball season starts in 6 days

Well I guess I should lower my opinions, never know whose watching

Have you tried sending a PM to a mod? I think they may make an exception, it might take a day or two to get opinion from other mods etc. What you quoted is probably more in the context of changing name from unicornlover1234 to catlady0627 or something for the most part I think.

Look above. The wizard himself answered negative on the request

Yeah I see that I can read, your condescension never fails to amaze.
It’s just stupid in this instance IMO, yeah it was a past software or whatever but there’s a mod themself who had a previous username. If I wasn’t able to switch my username from my real name I’d just feel unwelcome and find another forum.
1BB originally posted under the name "benbakdoff", but was allowed to make a new one and post as 1BB because he couldn't login as benbakdoff....and he had 447 posts when that happened.

Lol that wasnt condescension
Wizard gave his ruling
You posted a suggestion to ask the mods after the wizards post
Seemsd to me you had missed the wizards post. Happens to me too
So i said look above. He gave his ruling
Next time i will just let you keep asking answered questions

The entire second half of my initial response that you quoted makes it clear I had already read it. When I say “what you quoted” in a response to wizards post in quotation. I just had hoped that that they would be more respectful of members privacy in this case.
There really isn’t any point in either of us addressing each other anymore I think either way between you and I darkoz.
I have to disagree with you on this one. I take it that rule was to prevent shenanigans and confusion?Quote: WizardGiven recent events, forum management has had to crack down on multiple account abusers. Previously, I admit, we sometimes turned a blind eye to it in the past. I realize we mods will get criticized no matter what we do in this regard. Suffice it to say that we have recently adopted a zero tolerance policy towards multiple accounts. In the case of this new rule, we don't respect precedents as a reason to violate it.
We can all see this is a totally different situation. The guy has a legitimate reason since he is a BJ dealer using his real name.
He is new with only a few posts and it looks like he truly didn't know any better at the time. Perhaps he wants to tell us some casino stories, but cant open up like he would want to. Or maybe he realized, people be crazy on this forum, and using his name and his picture wasn't the best idea.
It's not like this happening behind the scenes where some guy has been posting for months where some of the forum members had no clue. Its all out in the open.
If ever there was going to be any exceptions to the rules, I think in this would qualify. I think 99% of the members here would not have an issue with it, or think its unfair.
I know you are probably thinking, if I do it for one member, I will have to do it for others. This sounds like something you should decide on a case-by-case basis. Perhaps moving forward you can have a notation when people are signing up to chose their forum name wisely since no changes will be made.
P.S. I know, I know, if we don't like it (-;

What the hell? U r seeming a bit extreme right now. Did we have some old argument i cant remember? U cant be upset over one post such as the above
EDIT: just reread it and no it was not clear
When you start with "maybe you can pm a mod" that indicates you had not read the wizards response or are mods here regularly overriding the wizards decisions.

Here is what it says on the sign-up page where it asks you to choose a user name. This wording was added about a month ago.
Quote: Sign up pagePlease choose your screen name very carefully. Whatever you pick, you will be stuck with. We cannot change screen names and strictly do not allow multiple accounts. If you wish to remain anonymous, we highly recommend you choose a screen name that is in no way associated with your identity, especially the prefix of an Email address you use. We hear from members all the name with screen name remorse. Sorry, there is nothing we will do about it. So please think long and hard about your screen name choice. Thank you.
I agree that in this case the member has a valid reason for the request. However, if we grant it, we'll get other requests quoting it as a precedent. It is a slippery slope I don't want to go down, especially after some recent events I don't want to rehash. Besides, I don't see what is so complicated about picking a user name and sticking with it.

Lol. I don’t know what I snapped about, tbh, maybe I gots problems. You know how sometimes some people it doesn’t even matter what they say or type, it’s just like nails on a chalkboard, makes ya kinda snap even if it’s irrational? Don’t sweat it, I’ll deal with it on my end, sorry for snapping over nothing.
If the wizard did grant the name change the op is going to be the BJ dealer who used to go by..
In other words any value from stories he has to tell anonymously is already ruined aa his identity is already outed
Like Donnie Brasco going back into the mafia with a new name. Not gonna work

Everybody has a bad day. Dont worry about it.
I guess i will be more careful on what i post. My work does have social media policies, so as long as im not name dropping or bashing my own house i should be fine lol

I will try and get Mike drunk and have him change his mind. Welcome to the forum. We appreciate the perspective you can bring from 'your side of the table'...

You aren't the only casino employee that posts here in which we know exactly who they are. Don't sweat it.
Why did you put up your picture again. They won't know it's you unless you tell them or the site tells them it's you, but a picture is hard to deny.Quote: GlenGThanks for the support guys.

It should be a cardinals logo
the people who you'd like to know that you are a dealer will know now, and you can PM new people you want to know
Unlike a few others around here, I don't have much experience in making new accounts(hi Nathanisatroll). So, I had no clue that was added. Had I known that, I would have been sympathetic because only anal people read that stuff. But, in the end, I would have thought, to bad, so sad.Quote: WizardHere is what it says on the sign-up page where it asks you to choose a user name. This wording was added about a month ago.
