When a forum member doesn't pay

Many are encouraging me to "take one for the team". The fact that I won the wager,and the amount owed are not in question. strictlyAP has already admitted as much. He has made up a story about a phone conversation as the reason for not paying. We have never spoken directly. I feel like he has introduced this lie to create confusion on the board, and take a shot at spoiling my reputation. The bottom line is this, strictlyAP lost a wager to me, and refuses to pay.
I have nothing to hide. I have given strictlyAP permission to post my PM's, however, he has refused to give his permission to me. This, I suspect is because the PM's document his promises to pay, none of which were honored.
tell you what ....if you fire the PMs off to me I will post them ASAP and if they suspend me for life who cares

Well if your reason is so valid you could at least give us the category of the reason.
Look at it from our perspective. The only info we have is as follows:
1. You acknowledged that you lost the bet.
2. You made arrangements to pay.
3. You didn't pay.
4. You say you have the money and owe the money but you won't pay.
Sure, you may not want to say exactly why you won't pay, but if you do not give at least the slightest clue as to why you wouldn't pay Ayecarumba -- a member, I might add, with an IMPECCABLE reputation -- then your own reputation is going to suffer.
You might say you don't care about that but clearly you are somewhat invested in this forum.

Which parties involved know it? The party that said they would pay and didn't? The party that keeps talking in circles? The party that gets caught in lies on this thread?
It is obvious that if you believe others think that, the person that "knows" it probably has multiple personalities. Maybe the party that "knows" it should seek psychological counselling.

You can run in circles and amuse yourself by dancing around everything that is being said, but if the facts are:
--You made a bet
--You lost that bet
--You have not paid that bet and still owe the money
...then the only possible reason not to pay it would be if the person who you owed the money also owed you money, or something of value, from some other transaction and that you had yet to be paid.
There is nothing else. You make a bet, you pay off your losses. I don't care if you are mad at him, if he called someone you know names, etc--we could go on and on--you owe him the money. heck, you even said that you did...
Why not simply pay him and put this thread to bed?

Why do you think it is acceptable to comment in this thread about you stealing money that another member won from you in a bet that you have not disputed in any way and that you have said that you lost and to do so without giving anything near a logical reason stronger than "because" for not paying?

You alleged that the two of you had a phone conversation. I'm going to call that, "No harm, no foul," besides, it was a PM conversation from last year and a bet that was settled amicably. I would be really surprised if you'd have had a problem with him disclosing the details of that PM last year, in that context.

I agree, I doubt mediation would help anything here. strictlyAP clearly he believes he is justified in not paying; I doubt anyone could change his mind at this point. He is dead set on it. Which just makes me even more and more curious what the perceived reason for not paying is! You'd think if it was a reasonable reason he would just tell us...makes me think even more that the only reason he's not paying is that Ayecarumba went public with it and hurt his feelings.
