No.

To share a document like that (or to post a photo or whatever), the item needs to be hosted elsewhere, then linked here.

More info can be found under the "Click here for formatting codes" link that appears below the text box as you type posts.

Why not take a screen shot of the PDF then just load it to tinypic and grab the code?

That's a quick solution for a single page, or part of a page that is displayed. DJTeddyBear's solution works for documents with multiple pages and allows the user's device (PC, cell, tablet) to present the data in the best format for the display used.

You could just copy and paste the text too

Great solution if the information you want to present is text only. And if the PDF in question allows the text to be copied, some do not. Doesn't work well if the document presents charts, pictures, and other information in binary format.

100% Yes if you're using OSX Marvericks

https://www.apple.com/osx/

Here's the code (no space before img):
[ img=http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f1040es.pdf]

On the other hand, you may or may not be able to read the above pdf-image if you're using Microsoft Windows. Anyway, if you can't see it, then you need to click the link below to read the pdf-image.

I'm OK with Corps which pick and choose clienteles. Both insurance companies and casinos have the right to pick and choose customers. They may keep profitable ones and kicked out the rest. But, I'm not OK with a casino supervisor who says counting cards... is like stealing food from a buffet (a foodlifting offense), or video-taping a movie in a cinema (a piracy offense).

I don't think that works. I am running OSX 10.9.4, and your post just shows up as including a broken link icon.

For the img formatting code to work right, the url must point to an image file, not a document. I've never used it to link anything except a .jpg file myself, though other image types may be acceptable.

Really? I'm on OS X 10.9.3, and I'm seeing the first page fine. It's the same on my iPhone 3G!

Edit...
Oh, wait. I thought the image of the first page was the result of linking the PDF. The real link doesn't work for me. I get a message "Adobe Reader blocked for this site." So maybe it's an IRS thing that is making it not work...

Technically, the document is not appended nor inserted since the img tag references the document located elsewhere. If the browser rendering the page can display the referenced PDF document the solution is virtually identical to inserting the document in the post, so bravo! Unfortunately, as several posters have mentioned, not every browser can do this. For me, iOS7/Safari displays the document within the post perfectly. Win7/IE and Win7/Chrome do not. As DJTeddyBear said in his initial response, the link element is the best method, one that works for about everybody.

I can take a screen shot of my pdf, one page at a time if necessary,
and use Paint to save it as a png or jpg file.
I don't know what you mean by "load it to tinypic and grab the code."
Please provide more detail. Regards

Here is a lesson 101 on how to upload a photo and then embed it onto your post.

1) Go to http://TinyPic.com/ or Go to http://imgur.com/

2) Follow instructions on how to upload your photo onto TinyPic.com or onto imgur.com/

3) After uploading your photo, copy the photo's link from TimnyPic. com, i.e., http://i58.tinypic.com/2mrfgp1.jpg

4) Paste the link onto the embedding code like this: [ IMG=http://i58.tinypic.com/2mrfgp1.jpg] (No space before IMG)
That's it. You're done.

This is how Ace posted the above sexy photo while he's reporting alive in Revel Casino.

You might try verifying the orientation before posting; i.e., don't post the picture rotated 90° as Artemis did. You can always preview a post before clicking "Post" to make sure you didn't screw something up.
