Is it a practical option for the thread starter to be able to edit his/her thread title?

Here is a good example, after posting I realized I should have used the word editing vs changing.

If it's critical, send me a private message. I wouldn't consider this thread's title an example of one that critically needs changing editing.

Administrators have that power, but it has it's drawbacks.

But if they fix something, the original poster may not be able to find it because they are looking for the wrong title.

I tend to correct typos in thread titles whenever I see them.

For what it's worth, the thread title appearing as part of the URL is mostly meaningless. For example, suppose a thread starts out with a typo in its title. Then someone copies the URL with the typo in it. Then the typo gets fixed. Then the person accesses the URL with the typo in it: the forum will redirect them to the revised URL which does not have the typo.

JB -
I did not know that. Very cool. I gotta try that on boards with other software and see if it does the same thing...

Gang-
What JB is saying is that whatever comes after the dash is irrelevant.
I.E. You can get to this thread with any of these urls:
https://wizardofvegas.com/forum/info/help/10301-changing-thread-title/ <--The actual url for this thread
https://wizardofvegas.com/forum/info/help/10301-garbage-data/
https://wizardofvegas.com/forum/info/help/10301-123/

Interestingly, you DO need the dash and SOMETHING after it.

Brought me to the last page of the help forum:
https://wizardofvegas.com/forum/info/help/8/

https://wizardofvegas.com/forum/info/help/10301-/
brought up the 404 Page Not Found.
