That's because it's NOT a system.

Sure, there is a betting strategy that goes along with the count, but it's not at all what the betting systems rule is about.

Casinos discourage one and welcome the other. That in itself should tell you that they don't deserve to be lumped together.

I'm back a little early, and let me see if I've got the new rules right: Personal insults are forbidden, but mkl or anyone else with a problem can use non-excessive profanity.
Wizard, insults are a part of life, and profanity is a part of a low-life. You're better than this. I don't allow profanity at all and I have a zero tolerance policy with the drivers that I speak to on the phone or radio or am personally around. Anyone can come over and tell me the best part of me ran down my old man's leg, but don't use vulgarity in my presence.

The Pat Tillman Bridge was spectacular, but the road leading to it on the Az. side is far from completed. I was in LV one night and played BJ for a change. I tried Martingale for a while for the 1st time ever, with an ability to go as high as $2560 (9th level) on a $10 min/$3000 max table. I won $1120 and the highest bet I made was $640. That system's not for me as it was too stressful and after a while, everyone was looking at me as I doubled my bets. They even made jokes about it, even the dealers. But I got the last laugh, and NO ONE got a tip fro me. I was the only one who wasn't intimidated into tipping also. I see no reason to just hand over your money when it won't make a lick of difference either way. If you need the dealer to be friendly to you so as to build your feelgood level, you're a weak player with no self-confidence.

I'm glad you enjoyed the bridge. You're entitled to your opinion, but in my opinion personal insults are a greater sin than profanity. If I had a driver who insulted me, I might give him a chance to apologize the first time, else he'd be out of job quickly.

I think there is a great deal in Intent of the language to hurt or dismiss - than a profane word in context as an exclamation.

There's a huge difference between "Aw, shit, I dropped the Casarole!" than saying to someone with the intent to hurt or inflame "You're an asshole!"

I don't mind at all a profane word in a bona-fide "non-inflictatory" or descriptive context, but do in an attacking or denegrating context.

I'm not really bothered by one-off insults or comments, profanity or whatever. It's just when the same name(s) are involved all the time, doing it again and again. Makes you wonder what they're doing here. I think the new rules are great. Although they wouldn't totally be my rules, they're close enough, and I can't complain.

The thing is profanity is rarely needed. And when a person uses it all the time it becomes meaningless except to make them look a low class person with no manners. I have worked in places where f-bombs fly and I always wondered how it would look if a customer walked in on it (customers never visited, perhaps once a year) and if you could keep it clean then, why not regular. And a woman dropping the f-bomb to me sounds like a whore. A Rosie O'Donnell will use foul language while a Sarah Palin would not. Who sounds better?

I once dropped an f-bomb around my buddy and his wife. I guess I didn't realize how rarely I used it since the by the look on her face you would have thought I pulled a gun out and shot someone as in "Plup Fiction." OTOH he also had one of those bubble-top hockey games like you see in the bar. We played 2-3 games in the basement and she was upstairs. He rarely uses profanity as well. Lets just say that game is emotional as when we came upstairs she was in shock and said, "You guys have no idea the language that comes out of your mouths when you play that game!"

So online I would encourage everyone, keep it clean. This is WoV, not DailyKos.

I'm actually somewhat amused by your condemning the casual use of profanity, and then casually making a misogynist comment like that. It's insulting to women on several levels, and I would imagine that you don't even understand why. (Don't try to figure it out.)

And while I think Rosie O'Donnell is a loudmouthed twit, I am much more offended by the shallow, badly thought out, cliched, meaningless utterances that come out of Sarah Palin's mouth than by anything that O'Donnell says. Lest the conservatives here indignantly draw their swords and come rushing to the fair lady Palin's defense, I hasten to add that political leanings, mine or hers, have nothing to do with my reaction to her. I loathe stupidity, and dear God, some of the things she says--repeatedly--are so unbelievably stupid. Not as in, I disagree with her politics, but as in, why would any adult say something that ridiculous in public?

So who sounds better? Rosie O'Donnell, by a country mile. I vehemently disagree with many of the things she says, but at least there's a functioning cerebrum producing those utterances.

I listened to a lot of Palin's speeches during the campaign this year. I must have missed the meaningless utterances, can you point out a few of them? The media must have missed them too, nobody was talking about them.

mkl missed them too. What irks the anti-Palin crowd is that they knew she was far more qualified to be president, let alone vp, than the lying racist who won, and now they have no choice but to try and cover up their pain over what they selected. I voted for Obama and am one sorry SOB.

In the meantime, as Sarah builds her power far beyond what the liberal kool aid drinkers are comfortable with in Oregon and Vermont, we get to watch them squirm as they claim she has no brain. Hmmm....did't the same critics say that about George W. Bush....whom we elected to office TWICE? And I never even voted for him!

What I find just as funny is how the liberals went nuts over the "You are no Jack Kenedy" in the 1984 VP Debate then 24 years later a Senator with less experience WAS THE NEXT JFK!

I for one am still awaiting MKL's reply on this one. I will even open his posts as I have him blocked.

Perhaps you would like to pick even one with which you have an issue instead of merely posting a link? "Tweets" don't count as a quote since one must limit their charachters to what is it, 140?

Maybe that was a rhetorical question, but I'll answer it anyway..."no".

Don't get upset about the "highjacking" of this thread. It isn't a capital crime here, the way it is on some other internet boards. Especially when the thread has run out of gas.

You have to realize that at least one of the persons you mention follows me around, like a love-struck teenager, looks for my posts, and then posts something that contradicts whatever I've said, just for the sake of contradiction. They've also insulted my profession, the state where I live, my family, etc. for no better reason than I chose to mention them. Disagreements are what they LIVE for.

And as far as their general intelligence goes, well...they seem to think Sarah Palin is a genius...'nuff said...

I believe the point of the column "Palinisms" is to show that Ms. Palin sounds "uneducated" - she sees to have trouble with sentence construction and using words properly. While I don't, by default, disagree with folks who sound "uneducated" to me, I sure as heck don't want them to be President.

And Tweets "count"...if one chooses to use a medium they should use it properly. There are plenty of "eloquent" Tweeters out there.

Whatever, have a good evening...I'm outta this conversation, back to football and counting the days until Friday and a 12:30 PT landing at LAS...Golden Nugget here we come...

Well here's a violation of Policy #3/POLICY #1, NO SPAM/NO PERSONAL ATTACKS, that came in the form of a PM that, regardless of the privacy issue, should never be sent to any member out of respect for everyone. Guess who sent it to me! And he thinks Sarah Palin has no brain.....

You may not realize it, but you are very, very close to getting your ass kicked off this board. I talked with the Wizard, and you are on a VERY short leash.

You look like such a fool when you make posts for no better reason than to contradict me. You don't even pay any attention to what you're saying! Like your stupid declared war on Oregon...for no better reason than you think I'm from that state! I mean, why be a fool AND a jerk at the same time?

In any case, please go on being a stupid prick. It will hasten your permanent departure.

According to mkl, he has an "in" with the Wizard and is allowed to insult and use profanity in PM's sent to other forum members.

RULE 4. Respect privacy. Do not post any information about someone else that is intended to be private or quote from private communication.

You violated Rule #4, and since you are the original poster of the above quote, you've violated the rule against the use of profanity as well.

I must admit that I had actually meant that communication to be private, but it turned out to be a perfect way to bait you into violating two of the new forum rules!

Guess we have to kick you off, Jerry! See ya! (And yes, Sarah Palin IS a moron. Sorry. It's true.)

Post as much as you can over the next day or two--you won't have another chance.
