Casino revenue rises 3.9% in September
Massachusetts (results) - Charlotte Capewell, CDC Gaming - Commercial casinos in Massachusetts generated $95.7 million in in revenue in September, a 3.9% increase. Encore Boston Harbor casinos generated $59.1 million, up 2.5%. The MGM Springfield casino revenue was up 6.3% to $22.3 million. The Plainridge Park Casino increased 9% to $14.3 million.
Statewide, table game revenue fell 3.7% to $28.1 million, slots revenue rose 7.5% to $67.6 million. https://tinyurl.com/2be5txvj
‘Wizard of Oz at Sphere’ reaches major milestones
Nevada (Las Vegas) - John Katsilometes, Review-Journal - Our Sphere stat of the week is 1 million. The other is $130 million. All of it related to a movie set on a farm in Kansas and the fantastic Emerald City. Sphere Entertainment announced Monday “The Wizard of Oz at Sphere” has surpassed a million ticket sales since opening Aug. 28. Illinois (Chicago) - Fran Spielman, Sun-Times - Chicago is actively pursuing the possibility of installing slot machines at O’Hare and Midway Airports…Ald. Gilbert Villegas (36th) was delighted to hear that the airport slot machine idea he has championed was finally moving forward…“They’re finally starting to realize that any form of revenue, especially given the deficit we’re facing, should be on the table. The game’s core mechanics rest on the shoulders of Benny the Bull (more specifically, his mood).
Depending on whether Benny is Happy, Proud or Angry, the game’s features will adapt accordingly. In this 5x5 online slot, the features range from adding extra Wilds to the reels to additional symbols to help Benny and his friends escape the rodeo.
If Benny is Happy two to six Wilds will be added to the reels. If he’s feeling Proud the Special Bull Wild expands to fill the reel that it’s landed on creating the potential for an additional one to four Stacked Wilds to be created.
The Freedom Round is triggered by landing the Locked Gate Scatter Symbol and the Bull Scatter on the same spin, the Bull smashes the Gate and Wilds fill the reels.
