Diller drops MGM Resorts takeover bid
National (acquisition) - Chris Sieroty, CDC Gaming - Barry Diller’s People Inc. has withdrawn a bid to acquire the outstanding shares of MGM Resorts International, but still believes the gaming company has a bright future…Diller stressed that what was “undimmed is our belief in the future of MGM Resorts.” The company confirmed it continues to hold 66.8 million shares, representing approximately 27% of the company. https://tinyurl.com/tcxfakrr
Wynn Resorts’ CEO, CFO cut salary in exchange for options
Global (corporate) - GGRAsia - Wynn Resorts Ltd’s chief executive Craig Billings, and the firm’s chief financial officer (CFO) Craig Fullalove, have each voluntarily reduced by 10 percent the cash amount of their base salary through to July 31, 2027. The move is in exchange for a grant of an equivalent value of options to acquire the casino operator’s common stock. For Mr Billings, the transaction involved the right to purchase an aggregate of 12,763 shares at an exercise price of US$82.96 per share. Tourism leaders expect visitors to cash in on 5-day citywide sale
Nevada (Las Vegas) - Richard N. Velotta, Review-Journal - The last time Las Vegas put together a resort-coordinated five-day sale, the results were huge. Although times have changed dramatically since September 2025, Las Vegas tourism leaders say they are confident that people will take notice of the deep discounts on rooms, restaurants, shows and attractions that are being offered on a special website through Saturday. Casino revenue rises 16.5% in August
Nebraska (results) - Charlotte Capewell, CDC Gaming - Nebraska casinos generated $27.5 million in revenue for August, an increase of 16.5%... slots wwere up 22% to $24.2 million. Table games increased 10.2% to $2.3 million. Electronic table games generated $591,895, and retail sports betting produced $386,048. Both Warhorse casinos recorded the highest revenue for August. iGaming reports $6.9 billion in handle in August, up 19.7%
Canada (Ontario) - Charlotte Capewell, Complete Igaming - iGaming Ontario has recorded a 19.7% year-on-year increase in total cash wagers in August this year, reaching CA$9.7 billion (US$6.9 billion) compared to CA$8.1 billion (US$5.7 billion) in the same month of last year…total non-adjusted gross gaming revenue (NAGGR) for August grew 18.2% to $281 million. Monthly active player accounts rose 15.9% from 1,016 to 1,208 this year. House Bills proposed to regulate skill games
