Lottery Commission reports 15.4% increase in December
Virginia (results) - Lottery Commission -The Virginia Lottery released its report on casino gaming activity for the month of December 2025; revenues totaled $86.5 million and $19.8 million in taxes, GGR was up 15.4%. Casino Louisiana opening in Bossier City. Combined, the two casinos added $15.1 million. December sports betting revenue was $63 million from a handle of $398 million. Lake Charles generated revenue of $78.8 million, up 7.4%. Shreveport/Bossier City $56.2 million, up 16.3%. New Orleans $56 million, up 5.3%. Adapting slots for new IRS threshold could take months
National (slots) - Mark Gruetze, CDC Gaming - While casino operators and players cheer the newly raised IRS threshold for reporting slot jackpots, implementing that simple-sounding change to machines nationwide might take months. Online Casinos Set Another New Record In December
New Jersey (results) - Jeff Edelstein, Casino Reports - The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement reported on Friday $273.2 million in online casino revenue for December, 19.8% higher than 2024. Casinos win was $216.1 million, down 6.7%. Sports generated $116.3 million, up 85 percent. Total gaming revenue for casinos, racetracks, and their partners was $605.6 million for December 2025, which was 15.9% higher compared to last December. National (sports) - Matthew Waters, Legal Sports Report - Allwyn announced its all cash purchase of 62.3% of PrizePicks closed on Friday and called out the expansion of its predictions product since the investment was first announced. The nearly two-thirds stake in PrizePicks cost Allwyn, a lottery-led international gaming company, $1.533 billion. There is also the potential to pay out up to $1 billion in earnouts by 2029.
