I thought the all in was well played by Su to put the pressure back on Greenwood. He could have had a Jack or even a flush draw. Curious that Su would call a, presumably, big bet by Greenwood to protect his pocket Aces pre-flop. Maybe Greenwood tried to slow play his monster. Su still had 8 outs at the river, and hit it.

I think I recall hearing on the broadcast that you could buy in for the 10K in the main event all they way up to the day 2 sessions which take a few days to get to technically. This allowed people to take only 1 week instead of 2 off of work on a deep run

In the main event everyone has to play one of the day 1 starting days, there were 3 this year. In 2006 when the record was set there were 4 starting days.

Well for starters, couldn't CZR at least get some of the faded tower facade re-painted ? That lack of basic maintenance is on display for all to see and it shouts out "RUN-DOWN PROPERTY".

It seems to me that another issue with RIO is that it isn't in the same ballpark for VP Pay-back ( and slots as well I am sure ) as both of its neighbors. Strip payouts for an off-Strip property don't make sense. And it clearly has an outdated lay-out and vibe compared to both, EVEN before PALMS did the massive re-model.

The following statement from the article surprised me a bit:

"A basic renovation of a Strip room costs about $30,000, said Beynon."

Heck, replace the carpet, put in a big ol' flatscreen TV, and a new mini-fridge if the suite doesn't already have one. I do see how updating a bathroom could be expensive. But 30 K ? ? ? Surely you could make a huge improvement with 5K.

This is wrong. After the three Main Event Day 1s were finished this year they still allowed people to enter on the Day 2s. Kevin Maahs is currently in the last 5 players at the Final Table and he never played a Day 1 in this event -he entered on Day 2.

I think WSOP attendance is up due to a booming economy.

Are you sure about Maahs? I thought he didn't play the "first" day, and played on 1B instead. Maybe I misunderstood them when they were talking about it.
