Your response to avaj, whether she was in blue or green at the time, was embarrassing If you had a doubt, you could have sent a PM to an admin.
I think it would be embarrassing that people are asking questions in the thread about the writing position and receiving no response from the OP, mod, grand-poobah, or whatever.
Might as well be a hit and run UK kitchen posting. Same effect.

Well to be fair, the op did say to send a pm.

They are generic questions and if answered it would save time from sifting thru multiple PM's and most likely generate even more interest from those that are too timid to ask. What you are confirming is my suspicion that it is nothing more than an ad. Hence the reason Nathan, an esteemed and revered member, got worked up thinking it was spam.

I had genuine interest but I don’t have an account at that site so I figured I’d get a response in the thread that Ava started?!? I guess not lol.

The link was to the LCB forum, where she works (which i think you understood from what you said). You do have to be a member to PM there, same as here.
I looked at it as sort of a test. If you're going to write for them for money, and they have a membership over 100k, they probably think you would want to look around a little.

So, this is a paid position? That was one of the questions being asked. People might be more inclined to do some digging if they think there is a nugget to be found. However, with the past history of speculation regarding finances and this site, I suppose maybe not.
It is looking more and more like and ad as Nathan seems to have correctly speculated. It certainly doesn't seem to be looking like a discussion.

No. It's an ad, but from the company that owns this site. avaj is Lipstick on their site. (If you follow the link, that's who the email addresses to there, so not doxxing her). Legit, not spam.
It is a paid position.
They have been advertising over there for it or similar positions since December, but I guess they haven't found the particular person (s) they're looking for.
Some details from over there:
They specifically want a table games person. General knowledge is good, but especially Blackjack and/or poker expertise.
English must be the person's first language. Previous writing experience preferred.
The assignments could be as frequent as 3-5 / week. They want a turnaround time of 2 days per article.
Back to me, thinking out loud.
Last I heard the pay is per article, not a salary for a single person, but I don't know specifically for the job she's talking about. I was thinking I could write carnival games, and can cover the other 2, but either PG or Rigandeaux for poker and either RS or Romes for BJ could give them some very good writing and expertise between any 3 of us.
Or not. Seems like there are other options as well.
Quote: MaxPenThey should hire you to post their ads and maintain a discussion regarding them, as that is the format they choose to use for recruitment.
I'll take that as a reference. Thanks! :)
I'm going to try and break out this derail from Nathan's thread. Stand by for a split.

I had responded to AvaJ seeking more information, but I responded on the WOV messaging system. Avaj's post had no visible link on it (although it was visible later when someone quoted her link.) I haven't heard anything. I do play WSOP circuit events, and I know BJ and every major table game cold. And I have written many documents and articles during my career and have always been regarded as an excellent writer. And I love to write.
I looked at the LCB site and at the articles that are written by various authors about on-line casino games. If those are the kind of articles that avaj is looking for then I would probably not be interested. But I thought I would politely ask about it.
Accordingly, I am closing this thread, and linking the main thread for any further comments. Thank you.
Writers Needed
I had already made Ava aware that there were obstacles to replying to her through that link. It seems she does read responses that are PM'd to her here, but whether or not she replies is another matter.Quote: PokerGrinderI had genuine interest but I don’t have an account at that site so I figured I’d get a response in the thread that Ava started?!? OOPS. Sorry to post to the closed thread.
