I saw this article too and thought it was interesting. After reading it, I searched to see how the Denver airport was handling the same situation... I got the impression Denver doesn't really care. I think it was a NYT article I read that said about a dozen people were stopped by the TSA with weed in I forget what year. They were asked to discard the item... No arrests. I guess the TSA is more interested in bombs than weed. Makes sense to me.

TSA has no criminal jurisdiction to arrest someone for pot. They handle passenger safety.

The TSA’s official position is that they do not care about and are not searching for drugs, but if found they will call local law enforcement.

How about pills?
Let's say TSA finds pills in an unmarked container; the passenger says they're his, but he does not have them in the prescribed pill bottle, nor does he have the written prescription for them.
What will TSA do, if anything?

The TSA will probably test them for explosives, but I've never had my pills taken out of any bag, ever. At the border once CBP game me crap for putting my Aleve in with my Tylenol Cold medication and warned me to keep things in their original bottles.
But law enforcement and dogs work the airports, and I would not be surprised if checked luggage is checked for drugs as well.

I was in vegas and bought shatter and vape supplies. No odor.
Was given free joints for the purchase
cant take those on a plane due to odor
Gave the joints away to what looked like homeless on the street
They were very appreciative

When somebody doesn't believe me, I could care less. Some get totally bent out of shape when not believed. Weird. I believe very little on all forums

lol never heard it called sense I had to look that one up either
I know this is just one of your late night proverbs, but coffee wouldn’t work either. Masking a scent with another scent will trick humans sometimes, but not so much with dogs. Dogs can separate different scents the same way humans can separate different colors in a bowl of skittles.
The only way to hide a scent from a dog is a vacuum sealed mylar or aluminum moisture barrier bag.
That said, there is so much damn mail that it would be impossible to screen every package for drugs. Those that get caught moving drugs via post were tracked via regular police work rather than the mode of transport.
