BBB suggested to me that we make a new category for threads about Atlantic City, as we have seen a lot more chatter on that topic lately. My response to that would be that next we would get asked for new categories for other areas as well. So, after much thought, I've asked JB to add several new thread categories for various sections of the US and world, including Atlantic City.

Enjoy.

Suggestion
Hotels/Casino category.
Downtown Grand?
I noticed because have a reservation there in a couple months and looked for its category and didn't see it.

Based on the two posts above, I am curious. Is there a policy, plan, or whatever for forums under "Las Vegas Casinos" when a casino changes name with or without demolition/rebuild, and perhaps without even a change of ownership?

Bill's Gamblin' Hall and Saloon is listed under "Defunct Casinos", but there is no forum for the Cromwell; similarly, the Sahara is under Defunct Casinos, but there is no forum for SLS. The D has its forum, but there is not one for the Downtown Grand; the Casuarina has a forum, but not the Max; the Hilton has a forum in spite of the fact that it became the Las Vegas Hotel quite some time ago and turned into the Westgate Las Vegas last summer; the Quad has a forum to replace the old one for the Imperial Palace, but the place is now known as the Linq.

Just curious as to whether there is any value and/or interest in keeping the "Las Vegas Casinos" forums list aligned with the list of casinos currently operating in Las Vegas.

Not seeing a "Midwest" category, is the Mississippi River the delineation between "East" and "West"?
May the cards fall in your favor.

Thank you.

Despite living in NJ, I've pretty much ignored the "Official AC Thread". After all, who decided that? Different threads for different topics work much better that having to wade thru a thousand posts.

On the flip side, it's kinda been bothering me about all the new threads that have been popping up under the Silver Nugget forum.
Superstitions are silly, childish, irrational rituals, born out of fear of the unknown. But how much does it cost to knock on wood? Note that the same could be said for Religion. I.E. Religion is nothing more than organized superstition.

I was going to say there needs to be a Midwest category as well.

Plus, why is there a whole category devoted to Mississippi? What's so great about that state? I've never been. if there is nothing out of the ordinary, why not make it the Gulf Coast category. That way you can cover Mississippi, Louisiana, and Florida all in one category.

Agree, Gulf Coast category would be better. Don't know how much trouble it is to modify, but pretty sure Wizard hates it, sorry

In that vein of being a pain-in-the-arse, the "belly full o'beer and a possum in a sack" phrase makes no sense attached to the East Coast, it'd be appropriate for Louisiana, as you can see with a lyric search,

Quote: http://www.cowboylyrics.com/lyrics/williams-don/louisiana-saturday-night-10637.html

My brother Bill an' my other brother Jack, Belly full o'beer and a possum in a sack. Fifteen kids in the front porch light: Louisiana Saturday night!

suggestions:

"Start spreadin' the news, I'm leavin' today. I want to be a part of it"

"Now I'm gonna show you how the East Coast rocks"

"the morning sun is shining like a red rubber ball"
"Baccarat is a game whereby the croupier gathers in money with a flexible sculling oar, then rakes it home. If I could have borrowed his oar I would have stayed." .......... Mark Twain

Hate to pile on for the outside of Nevada regions, but West/Gulf Coast/East/Midwest would be better. That's also the way VPFree2 does it.

How about North East and South East instead of East/Gulf Coast?

I don't know if any of those Florida cruise ships go out into the Atlantic.
