I think it's loud as well; wondering if maybe it's bolded, where blue names aren't, and the bolding could be turned off? I kind of go, "Yikes" when I'm scrolling through something and see a past post jump out at me.

How about trying it with just the first letter of the name in green?

I use an Ipad and the green font is definitely thicker than the blue. Not sure if it's bolded or just one font size larger.

Face and I are admins on only this site, to my knowledge. The original 3 are admins of both, and no other admins for DT have been announced that I'm aware of.

I think they might become Admins over there, and it may have just been overlooked. Thank God, because the strenuousness of policing the six posts per day over there is really taking its toll...j/k

IMO that will not happen until you ban off-topic posts here. Asking nicely is not going to do it; it's a bit of a chicken-and-egg problem. People won't post there because there is no audience, and there won't be an audience until people start posting there.
As much as I would prefer that there be no off-topic stuff here, if I had an off-topic thread to start, I'd do it here, rather than there. There is no point starting a thread somewhere where no one is going to read it. I think that it makes the most sense to either kill DT, or move all off-topic stuff off here and over there. Trying to have both DT and off-topic stuff here makes little sense to me.

Banning off-topic posts is a bad idea. Every Web forum with an established topic goes through the same thing. Eventually, a community forms, and people want to talk about other things. People have lives and experiences they want to share, and it's only natural that off-topic talk happens. You cannot sustain a community for years and years on just one topic.
What should happen is that off-topic posts should stay in off-topic sub-forums. That way people can choose how much to participate in them. Moderators should be more vigilant in MOVING threads to the appropriate sub-forums.

This, I agree with completely. DT was never going to work because people like to come to one place to talk to the same people. That's the whole point of a forum community. All the off-topic DT stuff should be moved back to WoV in the appropriate sub-forums.

They are both the same type face, 13.5, but the green is bolded. And it is truly hideous.

Until Nareed recently, there has never been a banning as a result of anything said at DT. Everyone there has been otherwise perfectly behaved. So far, JB and I are the only admins there, which is enough, for now.
I'll be off the forum from 3/1 to 3/10. I'm just letting you all know so no one PMs me with concerns and becomes upset that it wasn't addressed.
I suspect I'm low profile enough to not have to worry about people trying to rob me now that they know when I'll be gone. But just in case...

It's more to save a waste of time. Unless someone wants to spend 20 hours assembling my race car to profit $500, I don't really have much to steal. If someone broke into my house, I'd probably most lament having to fix the door, as that'd be more of a hassle than replacing any of my meager possessions.
Just remember my gun-nuttery had to have come from somewhere. And though the Chip is going fishing, you still have to deal with the Block =p
