A handful of people here bump threads that are several months old. I'm not asking that this be stopped by you guys, I'm asking that you throw in a notification when it happens. It's really helpful to know if the thread is more than a couple of weeks old.
Please just throw it into the mix of possible forum upgrades when you guys are deciding on what to do.

Just because a thread is a few months old, does not mean it should not be bumped. Things change or a new slant occurs.
I am one of that handful.

I can't wait until this thread gets bumped for no reason in 6 months.

Yeah I'm sure it will happen, just something I've found very useful on other forums.

Buzz, he's not asking that the practice of bumping old threads be prohibited or disallowed. Just that there is a "notification" of some sort so that when you open a thread with a long (say 3 months or whatever) span of time in between posts, it doesn't take as long to figure out the context.
Click the example link he provide and you'll see. It doesn't really detract from the new post; I think it would be a swell feature.

For what it's worth, I had to scroll down to actually see what you're talking about. So it appears that on that board, the "great feature" isn't even doing what it was intended to do. Check it out:

So, despite the "kewl" comment on the second post, to be truly 'kewl', this is how the page should have appeared:

A good place for that might be to post a date next to the "Thread Starter" entry. Hopefully that wouldn't be too complicated to program.
