As I'm sure you all know, earlier this year the Venetian made the Resort Fee optional. Does anyone know if this is still the case? The reason I am asking is because the web page that described the poker room rate had been saying that the resort fee could be waived, but I just looked and it no longer says that? Does anyone have current info?

Friend was there recently and was optional to him. He still used the free wifi and everything without issues though after declining it.

I just got back from there on Superbowl weekend and there was no option (it was applied to the room). I was there about two months prior and given an option.

I was invited to a slot tournament this past weekend and had 3 free nights at the Palazzo. I couldn't access the WiFi so when I called the front desk they said I wasn't paying the $39.95 resort fee because I was an invited guest and if I wanted to pay it I would get wifi.
I passed.
