If I booked my hotel through mlife.com (logged into my mlife account), will I automatically receive tier credits for the hotel booking or do I have to do something extra ?

I would assume you actually have to complete you stay to get the tier credits. Also I would make sure you link your room to your players card when you arrive. I always double check when checking in that I get my tier credits, never hurts to ask.

Just give them your players card when you check in.

Also you can double/triple dip with points here, since you are paying for your room (not getting it comped)

You can get 600 southwest rapid rewards points if you give them your RR number when you check in.

You can get some Hyatt points (based on how much you spend) if you give them your Hyatt number when you check in. You get points for every dollar that's charged to your room, including retail and food/drinks, so charge everything to your room at any MGM casino (you also get tier credits for every dollar that's charged to your room).

Honestly the tier credits are not worth that much. Platinum has some benefits (many of them are not advertised!) but it won't increase your offers or anything -- all they care about for that is how much you gamble.

Southwest points IMO are some of the best value around, especially if you have a Southwest card. I just booked tickets for me and my brother, received all of them free (IND to PHX to LAS to IND, and IND to LAS to IND, 40k points). But staying at hotels gets you 600 points (such as MLIFE and Hyatt)and usually every month they have a bonus hotel this month is Carlson Hotels (1800 pts). I didn't know you could triple dip, i thought you could only get the points for Southwest or the hotel?

Maybe I am wrong about the triple dip. I have not paid for a hotel room in Vegas for a long time. When I read about the partnership, I didn't read anything about only one or the other, but I may have missed some fine print.

It can't hurt to ask! If I had to choose, I'd agree that the southwest points are probably worth more unless you know that you will rack up a huge bill due to partying or whatever (since hyatt points are on a per-dollar basis, while southwest points are per-trip)

You can, at the very least, double-dip (you get tier credits in addition to hyatt points, not instead of). That is made clear in the details of the partnership. And, again, I didn't see anything written about not being allowed to triple-dip.
