I just saw this years Cutting Edge conference would be held virtually. I am curious to hear if the table game competition will still be held. The website didn't seem to have any more information at this time, but maybe there are some insiders here in the know...

I would think it unlikely to have the new games contest - or even just to have new games presentations.
Trying out new games, and getting a feel for how they operate is hard enough in a live, face-to-face setting. Online? Tricky at best, with the 'winner' most likely not being the best game, but the one with the best online presentation, whatever that might be.
And if they were considering it, a method for game developers to register their game, or at least to get info, would have been included somewhere on the website.

I might have to retract that comment. There IS a link that talks about the contest, but the text hasn’t been updated to the virtual format. It still has the live event dates and Bally’s location.Quote: DJTeddyBear... if they were considering it, a method for game developers to register their game, or at least to get info, would have been included somewhere on the website.
So obviously the website needs to be updated. Just don’t know which way it’s gonna go. Of course, I think it’s gonna be no new games showcase. 😕

While there isn't much detail on what exactly they have in mind, the impression I get is that the conference will be "on-line" rather than "virtual". Mainly it's just streaming the presentations and setting up chat rooms. In contrast to Table Games, the Casino Esports Conference next month looks to be much closer to deserving the description of virtual. 3D booths for the trade show, avatars that can "walk" around. From the description the only thing missing will be support for VR headsets (e.g., Occulus Rift).
My goal of being well informed conflicts with my goal of remaining sane.
