I would like to attempt to replace my double standard 6-sided dice with a single 12 sided die to make the Money$uit determination a little more simple...
Any help would be appreciated. Im trying to avoid calling every single licensed supplier again if possible...
Using your favorite engine look for Chessex. You would want raw unpolished 12-sided dice as a starting point. Last I knew no one had face-injected 12's.
Quote: 98ClubsThings may have changed since 2008 when I tried this. IIRC if these are to be used these 12-sided dice must be "legal". That was a problem then as the dice manufacture was vertex-injected. This led to over-polishing the die to remove the defect. Thus no "razor-edges". A large hint here. If you can find a supplier of face-injected 12-sided dice, you will stand a better chance of finding "legal" 12-sided dice. 3-D printing in acrylic might also help.

appreciate this... I do not need razor edged dice because it will be used in a shaker like the dice i use now...
But i will certainly search for them as you instructed....
Thanks!
Any other info from others would be helpful... And a U.S. company might be best if possible...

You also might want to contact Lou Zocchi at Gamescience - he used to make it a point to show how his dice were made to a higher standard than other companies.

Right... at least 20K rolls tested way-back. Still does the D&D/RPG circuit at least as of 2012. I believe he actually made the 8 & 12 sided dice-molds.

If anyone knows how to get a hold of him I would appreciate it.
You could also inquire to chessex directly, they are a USA Co.: their distributors are OOC, but, you can find them at the shows also.
Zocchi and chessex sell blank 12's.
Quote: 98ClubsTo talk to him personally, it looks like a road-trip to the local D&D/RPG show.

I can get blanks from a number of different places. As these are not craps dice and don't directly affect the game at all it seems that in most places the ussual requirements do not apply. However, I would need a company that would be able to print or stamp these. The company I use now doesn't have the ability to stamp these types as the machines supposedly aren't capable of doing so. Also with hot stamping it creates ridges around the stamp that wouldn't pass the micrometer requirements if there were used for craps.
I'd prefer a durable print/paint because the foil typically used for stamping flacks/scrapes off after some time of use...
I did find a few potential sources however I now have to wait for a response. Also I actually found the contact info on their site. He worth it is "info at gamescience dot com". Therefore it was rather hard to find haha
Quote: 98ClubsOK... looks like durable paint with small amount of solvent. The area of paint should be the same on all sides.
Yes, weight will not be the issue... It's a matter of getting them produced by a reputable/trustworthy source...
