How do you beat the house in this game?
Good luck to you and Galazy Gaming.
Quote: ParadigmPGD, is this the first install in Vegas? I played it at Hawk's Prairie card room in Lacey, WA back in December I believe.
Yes it is. It's been popular up in WA, but it is now spreading out....about time for the good game to get out there in the gamblin' world!
I will check it out in an hour or so...
. 99%? The betting structure of the game almost guarantees it.Quote: AxelWolfWhat are the odds AP's will find a way to exploit this?

Small, aside from hole-carding or edge sorting at places where they bring out the community cards early.
I think it's tight.
Strategy is slightly different from UTH.

Congrats, Dan, and good luck with it!

As of last January, everything I now design or patent gets assigned to Galaxy gaming. I am all right with this, and it is supposed to be this way now, as I am their Manager of game development. My older games (pre-employment) are assigned to Lubin-Jones, LLC.
Thanks.

I think the question was more directed at did you come up with the design/concept of the game or did it come from outside and Galaxy bought the rights or IP to the game.

1. The base game is similar to Ultimate Texas Hold 'em, which is enabled by a Patent that Galaxy owns and holds via the Derek Webb/Prime table games acquisition, and shares via a lease with a competitor.
2. yes, the idea of reducing the raise bet to 3x on hole cards, and repaying that extra house edge back in the form of financing a free Bad Beat feature is my idea as a Galaxy employee, and is fully and exclusively owned by Galaxy Gaming, and is patent filed under Galaxy Gaming, Inc. of Las Vegas, NV. Some ideas come from the big boss, and one high-up sales rep has also produced some very fine game ideas.
Quote: RoghaltzIs the game available anywhere else in LV other than the M resort?
Thanks.
Soon. It passed its field trial, and is awaiting formal approval by the Nevada Gaming Control Board and the Nevada Gaming Commission.
It is available in a number of casinos and card rooms in Washington state, where it was launched.

Nice job on the taking a little from the main bet and giving it back in the form of the Bad Beat for the Odds Bet. That's a great feature of the game.

Jeff, - thank you, really!
Sometimes it is the small thing that makes the biggest difference.
Early in its development, we also considered other things, other uses of the edge trade-off, including a "Dealer always qualifies" version with a lesser Blind pay table. But in a hold 'em game with a big community board, two things really stood out: getting killed with a lower full house, and getting killed with a lower flush or straight. Up Close and Personal Gambling experience can really help. Those instances we do see and STEAM - AND with another trip to the casino ATM machine with its $3.95/$4.95 charge. Gak! This little change took a lot of time and money to develop; the initial pay tables were way to loose for the first two installs, and the Free Bad Beat pay table was adjusted very accurate with real data. Serious birthing pains up in WA state for a couple of weeks, then smoother sailing.....
One other thing I added, which I fully admit is very similar to the hole card bonus bet of Texas Hold 'em Bonus, is the Pocket Bonus bet - but with a FOUR-item pay table, instead of a 12-item pay table. What was bugging me on that scenario was the gazillion separate line items for the "AK suited versus AQ suited versus AQ off-suit versus AJ suited, versus a low pair versus a medium pair versus a medium-LOW pair," ad infinitum.
I just saw it as:
Aces;
Ace-Face suited;
Ace-Face off, and
ANY pair K's or less.
And that's IT. Done with. Less is more there 100%. BIG game design lesson here.
The Pocket bonus took me ten minutes in excel, and ten minutes for the indy mathematician to calc & report. It is TWO CARDS....Three pay tables with a high (9.9%), medium (6.8%) and low-ish (4.5%) house edge. It was an extra item little job in a group of bigger math reports where that extra side bet work was an additional $18.75 charge. After all the head-banging and brainstorming and mid-wife-ing for the big humdinger, - which was like an engine rebuild and re-manufacture, the Pocket bonus was like adding a new wiper blade that sweeps clean, "while we got the car in the shop....."
I'm not alone at GG. A LOT of stuff also comes from the big guy at GG ("a hands-on kinda guy"), and from one sales exec. It's "into the conference room, and order out for pizza," and believe me, I frequently hear "Dan, that blows - NEXT!" [Gong sounds....] Gotta look at it all....and a lotta math work and dealing procedures...
Quote: Paigowdan"Dan, that blows - NEXT!" [Gong sounds....] ...
Haha... I've got to get me one of those.

Thanks. Can you post when/where its available? I played it at Dover Downs (DE) and it was a lot of fun. Heading to LV in early October.
