Caesars reported an adjusted loss of $25 million for its Las Vegas operations for 2024.

A few years ago I wrote an article about how casinos are often surprisingly unprofitable. I'm not planning to update it any time soon, as I think I've made my point, but today Caesars emailed me their results, so I'm sharing.

Discuss.

Hollywood accounting. It's not just for blockbuster films anymore.

Do those numbers include results from the REIT operations?
May the cards fall in your favor.

Everyone I'm hearing from is saying Vegas is a ghost town in certain areas and certain times, compared to a 'normal' up year. It is theoretically possible there may be some genuine losses by some casinos out there. The rumor was going around Le Fontaine Bleu lost a ton in the past 2 years, mainly due not understanding their core audience and some weird ideas about how to run the casino/staff the casino.
