Due to a recent $30,000+ coin-in trip and/or having reached Diamond, I have evidently been assigned a host. She left me both voice mail and email messages introducing herself.

The thing is, I'm a fairly low-roller. I will typically have a bankroll of $200-$300 per day, and I take roughly 4 trips a year (usually 2-3 days each). My last two trips, I ran crazy-good and played way more than I typically do. But going forward, I don't expect to keep giving the casino that type of action.

For the most part, I'm happy with the room comps I book through the TR website. In fact, I have already booked my next two trips with all nights comped.

So, my question is: what should I do with my new host? What, if anything, should I be asking for? We might enjoy a nice meal or two. Do hosts have access to better comp rooms than I can find on the TR website? If I ask for and get a free meal or nicer room, will I be expected to give them that much more action? I'd hate to reach the end of my bankroll, only to have my host tell me she needs to see more play.

Assuming your talking about CZR with Diamond. Not to be a downer but they assign a host when a daily play hits a certain number. Many times they are fishing, trying to develop a new player. You probably won't get much in advance off of one visit but they may be able to book a better room for you. They also have some discressionary comps to use to cover food and such about earned credits, however they won't do this until the end of a trip once they review play. ADT is still king in the CZR world. Old advise but don't fall into the trap of playing more than you want to trying to impress a host. I use CZR for the free room deal as you stated and feel they are looking for more play than I am willing to give them for anything else of value. I stick with the computer generated offers and don't use a host because on most trips they won't like what they see. That said, I have gotten free rooms in many places with CZR and there doesn't seem to be an issue with low play hurting new visits to other locations.

Don't count on getting any extra restaurant comps from your host based on your level of play. I have asked my host and got into tournaments that I didn't qualify for based on my TR offers. Other than that they really don't do much unless you are a very big player. The good news is that with your current ADT you will probably start getting great offers on the TR website.

I would doubt the good offers in fact I'd almost assure you it's a waste- I have cards that are gold that get 1000 in Freeplay and cards that are diamond that get 10 dollars and discounted rooms

I'm going to go the opposite here and say nothing ventured, nothing gained. Next time, prior to your visit, call the host and say you'd love to meet them during your visit. Also, prior to your visit, let them know you are planning on having dinner at X (whatever restaurant you like), and ask if they can arrange reservations and a comp for you. As long as you aren't attempting a 400.00 dinner at a 5 star restaurant and go somewhat conservative and look for a restaurant with a 75-125.00 bill, I have a hard time believing the host will want to say no on the first go around.

Well to start with Cet deducts your rewards credits prior to issuing any comp. so use all your points first. Second host are use to this and because op is not a new player they will look at the history of the account and pretty much any half brain dead host would see minimal play for 5 or more trips and then see he clearly ran well and be very cautious as that trip would be an anomolie

My host just added $100 in food comps on to my room when I mentioned that I was going to be bringing some friends with me. I didn't ask for them and it was in addition to the $130 in comps I already had on my card and $100 in freeplay, 3 free nights and free watch.

I think she did alright for me.

Unless they have recently changed CET properties look at ADT for last 3 months, 6 months, and one year. I usually play one big day per year ($50k+) and then only play my free play when the good offers come in. I usually get about six months of good offers before they drop down to garbage. I then don't play for six months and start over.

Well yes but drich- you are doing it the opposite way and this using it to your advantage - one big day preceded by small days as the op said won't get much of anything

Lucky you that a host contacted you.

a new caesars property opened up near me a couple of years ago.
never played much at caesars before.
did $50k coin-in for DiaD when the beginning of the next year rolled around.
actually finished a few hundred $ up.

not a peep from anyone.
i made Aspirations Lvl 1 later that year and still no contact.
for curiosity, i finally asked if there was a host assigned to me and the answer was no.
but i didn't care.

i read from here hosts don't comp anything for you until you exhaust your reward credits first.
and i was swimming in Reward Credits thanks to multiplier days.
and the computer system was giving me free rooms like candy.

so to this day, i have no idea what good a host would do to a person like me.

If you have a host.. make contact. Be honest and be hoepful.

If you have a host at an Evil Empire casino: don't expect much, but do make contact and do be fairly honest.

A host should understand that YOU do not want anyone reaching into your wallet and monkeying around, so make it plain that if you have some sort of points you do NOT want the host to use them as you probably already have plans for them. Hosts at CET have little leeway in their computer system.

If your action merits something you might as well get something you want, so room, food, booze, airfare whatever. TRY for it. But CET will usually want you to use up the trivial points that you already have before they anoint you with anything special.

Anything that requires coordination should go thru a host: show tickets, shopping privileges, etc. Spa privileges for some reason seem to be separately priced by certain casinos. Limousines are usually fairly cheap for a host to provide since the casino gets billed for them at a commercial rate, not the rate you would pay if you yourself hired one.

I see no reason to NOT meet with and have a brief chat with your host... new hosts often view a new client as an investment and may stretch a few computer rules for you to get your future play.

Of course at my level of play, the host can't even get me a free key chain or free bag of peanuts.

Gotta be honest, I would find you making any kind of personal contact with your host to be pointless. You're worth nothing to them, but they SHOULD open up some better offers (can't say with certainty, but anecdotal evidence and hearsay make me believe this). Tell your host where you want to stay and with what offer, or, tell them to find your best available offer. The best offer during any period is usually open for anyone to book (you see the same info they do), but, if you're going during a busy time that doesn't permit the top offer, they can mix and match the lesser offers, which is really hard (impossible?) on the TR website.

Use them, but don't make yourself an annoyance.

You actually have a narrow window of opportunity here. As far as CET and your host are concerned, you're a moderately valuable player to them. When it becomes apparent that you're a 200-300 a day player, you won't get a moldy doughnut from them--but in the meantime, you're a medium roller to them. Therefore, ask for the freakin' moon. For your next trip, ask for room comps, food comps, and for the casino host to shine your shoes with his tongue. As of this moment, they don't know that the level of play you showed them last time is a fluke. They'll assume that it will continue, so make comps while the sun shines.

Of course, once you use those comps and give them a few hundred in action in return, you'll be dropped down to Dirt level and will get a mailer good for "One Kick in the Head Next Time You Stay With Us and Pay Full Rack Rate and Resort Fee." But until then...

Good luck with Cet getting much of anything - at that level of play hosts are useless- unless you are putting up a minimum of 1k adt and that's low the host don't care- being raged to you will actually lower their average adt per player - a PD exec wouldn't even touch you. Amazed at what some people think a host can do at Cet
Most host at Cet have a max of 100 in promo authority - lucky if they are good they get 300

At most other properties they are given at least 500

Do you know or have an idea what your ADT is? I figure OP probably has an ADT of $500 at the most (my opinion). That's assuming 4 days of 5k coin in and 1 day of 30k coin in, with a 5% theo. Everyone's different, I'm sure some people can get stuff that others can't get. But if you're barely a diamond with a sub-par ADT for a diamond player, you're not gonna get much if anything. Even a higher level player with a 3k ADT isn't gonna get that much extra out of hosts than what he could normally do himself (regarding CET in LV).

I'm Platinum, but with a higher than a normal Platinum ADT since I only go 4 times a year or so. I'm guessing maybe $1,500 ADT, but running well worse than that in actual recently.

hm.. just got an email from a host at Planet Hollywood (Vegas) introducing himself to me.

I did $100k coin-in at a 99% machine in 4 days last month. (2500 tc + 5k bonus tc each day)
thought for a sec that 1% of $100k = 1k adt. but over 4days, it's actually $250 adt. :(

don't know when I'm going back.
but is it worth talking to him?
if so, what should I ask for?

I'm heading back next week. I'm thinking I will let my host know I am coming and stop by and say "Hi." See what she has to say. Our room is comped (booked thru TR website). From what I read above, I'll plan on using my RC's up this trip -- probably on dining. I'll probably hit up the Diamond Lounge, too (never been to one before).

I really don't see me needing to ask for much of anything this trip, but I may see what she can do for our November Vegas trip. But it sounds like I shouldn't expect much.

Thanks for the all the responses, guys!

BTW, regarding offers: this previous trip was the first action I have given this particular store in over 8 years. I assume it was enough to generate some mailers. Anyone know how long it should take before I get them? I'm guessing at least a month, since I haven't gotten anything, yet.

Total Rewards can take up to three months before you get anything but once it starts coming you will get lots of stuff. Try not to play there until the good offers start coming in. Otherwise your ADT will go down before they classify you as a good player.
