Hello everyone,
I haven’t posted in a while but just recently I decided to brush up on 9/6 Jack’s. I used to know the strategy perfectly including about five rare exception. But in my review so far I came across the exception where you would hold suited queen/jack (26) over 4 high cards (25) if there’s no flush penalty or straight penalty card.
Do I have this correct?
I saw a published exception that states:
“4 to an inside straight beats suited jack and queen with 9 or flush penalty card.”
Is the referring to the same exception except it’s worded incorrectly?

Hi John,
I'm kinda doing the same thing, after hiding from the Virus for a year, trying to freshen up on strategy decisions. Naturally started with 9/6 JoB, the easiest. QJ suited is better than AKQJ unless there's a flush penalty or a 9 penalty. (or 8 penalty in 8/6 JoB).
That's one of Six exceptions.
It's fun getting back into it and going to the casinos, getting out of the house. Good luck to you, stay safe.

Confirming that. The Advanced strategy for 9/6 and 8/6 on the Jacks or Better strategy cards from Bob Dancer and Liam W Daily have the following lines, and I have written code to confirm that their Advanced strategy for 9/6 and 8/6 is indeed computer perfect:
QJ .................. (< AKQJ when fp or 9p {or 8p in 8/6})
AKQJ
