More like something where i put my hand in and itll tell me how to play it based on which game im playing. Still new to Video Poker
You want it on your phone so you can use it on the go, or for use in casinos, or do you just want something for home to practice and calculate?Quote: GlenGMore like something where i put my hand in and itll tell me how to play it based on which game im playing. Still new to Video Poker
Remember, there could be an issue using a program in the casino while playing.
If its just for home use I can help you out and send you a fairly good program. There's always WOO and others, it just depends on what you actually need and want it for.

All of the above.

I don't know about other locations, but Nevada has a law against using a VP app in a casino. The first time, you can get probation, but the second time, it's a minimum one year of jail time.
Also note that tribal casinos operate under the laws of the tribal nation whose land they are on.
That being said, if you have an Android phone, there are a number of them on the Google Play store.

Didn't know this. I was playing next to a guy at Southpoint few months ago, he had a strategy book. Or is that different?

The laws generally allow for printed or handwritten paper or brochures.many casinos publish their own strategy cards or sell them in the gift shop. The issue is using electronic playing aids. Such as a VP app in which you plug your hand to determine the best play.
Takes a little pre-planning, but if you scout the machines you want to play and write down the pay tables and exact name of the game, then leave the casino floor and plug the info into JBs strategy guide on Wizard of Odds, especially the payable, you will get a very specific strategy list. Print that out, bring it with you to the casino, you have everything you need.
Personally, I copy/paste the result into Word, then group as much of it as possible into a type of hand (it usually prints out each hand a you'll see what I mean once you do one), then I make columns (usually 3) for the info, and it will fit onto a single page you can keep in your wallet. You can have that openly on any casino floor I've ever played.
It also helps to concentrate on 1 or 2 variations at a time, until you learn them cold. Like, play only double-double bonus or deuces wild (each of some particular paytable)for a few days Or weeks.

Maybe there's a better one out there. I've never needed to look.
You might also sign up for a gold membership at videopoker.Com . They don't have every paytable, but they do have nearly every game. With gold, you get the trainer, that tells you if you've made the right/optimal choice on every hand. For $10/month, it will pay for itself immediately.

Interesting. Thanks for sharing this information.
Are the casinos more concerned about players playing each hand correctly or are they more concerned about them not playing at a certain pace?
