I know how to play some VP and I understand that I need to use a players card to earn. I am trying to turn my 40,000 dollars into 100,000 dollars within 6 months to a year. Is this possible? If it is not possible, what is a more realistic amount to make in that time frame? Any help would be appreciated. I do have another bank account that I use for paying the bills so this 40k is strictly for investing.
What is the best way to go about making my money grow? I only need to make 2 to 3 grand per month but can make it on only 1500. I was hoping to make around 6k per month if that is possible?

Am I missing something? To turn 40,000 to 100,000 in 12 months requires 5000/month.

You're not missing anything, but the op is.
$5k/mo. expected net income? On VP?? How good are you; how much of that $40k is strictly for gambling; what expenses do you have? Etc etc.
From what I've seen, to get the info you appear to want from here you'll need to know the secret handshake. And then some. If you go the private route then get out your checkbook. Basically, you can gather all the information you need to know by reading and understanding gaming books and blogs/articles on the internet.
Personally, and this isn't a disparaging remark, there's more of a probability that you'll end up on the Nevada Welfare system than getting the turnover you want, like so many before you.
Good luck however.

Better he get the Bob Dancer software. Following only what's in his books could cost him thousands and a few inappropriate behaviour lawsuits.
Quote: billryanOdds are that your $40K turns into 20K. unless it is strictly for gambling. I seriously doubt a newcomer to Vegas can get by on less than 2K a month. Have you even attempted a budget?
as someone who used to live in vegas I can say with quite a bit of confidence that its easy to live in this town on under 2k/mo if your good with money and dont have a high standard of living, I was living off of 1500/mo and had a decent standard of living. the problem is people aste money on things like eating out and entertainment, this town can get REALLY EXPENSIVE if you dont know how to budget
I know this isn’t my cup of tea.
Life is short. Take that 40k and make memories with the ones you love.
In the past, I have been asked to calm down with sockpuppet allegations publicly, so I just didn't comment.
It seems we have an influx of people playing games for whatever reason.
Someone is trying to stir up sh*t. Hopefully, they will reign in the horse.
Why you think the OP in not leigt?Quote: AxelWolfI knew the odds were very slim the OP was legitimate.

It seems that he's been banned. I don't know why, but I can assume.Quote: speedycrapWhy you think the OP in not leigt?
If you are wondering what my observations were in thinking he wasn't legitimate... that's an AncientWolf secret.

Personal insult, three-day suspension. In case you didn't know, Bob Dancer is a member of the forum and personal insults, which I take this to be, of fellow members are not allowed.
p.s. Why the English spelling of behavior?

Is the information provided by FakeSockPuppet good or bad? You say if I follow those instructions I will go broke? Why was his post not deleted immediately once it was known he was a sock puppet?
Who is/was "FreePlay"?
Edit: I have an idea. Also, I have a theory a recently joined "member" is gonna get #banned.

It's not horrible. I guess it depends on your goals. Or lack of them.

@waxzkie22, those types of plays have a lot of variance and a razor thin edge. So the plays are good in the sense it's +EV, but bad in the sense it's not that great of a play. Finding better plays takes time, knowledge, and a lot of work to go scout the places, test them, and all that. Or seeing a promotion and first knowing if it's a beatable promotion and then figuring out the best way to play it. This stuff doesn't just come out of thin air (sorry), but from building on what you know. At the beginning, it'll be tough since (I assume) you don't know much about AP'ing VP or machines in general....and anything that's good (in general) isn't going to be discussed on a public forum for all to read, since we certainly don't want the casino finding out as well as because as APs, we are essentially competing against each other.

Let's hope not.
why not? For the sake of all AP,it's better for him to go. AP s don't need attention.Quote: IbeatyouracesLet's hope not.

Save for picking off a multiplier or two, I'm retired from AP. I enjoy the rants and makes me feel better about quitting counting years ago and moving on.
Quote: MoosetonCan someone please PM me fake sock puppet's post. It was probably the most valuable post I've seen here in a while. I took screenshots of it thinking the post would be erased but I had to erase my iPhone yesterday when my wife locked it with a pin but the pin didn't work!
I thought the information in that post was basic. As others have pointed out it was razor thin. It struck me as a good basic place to start and certainly advanced in that it was dollar play information. I don't usually see posts mapped out like that. I think that was a banned member and I followed some of his advice in the past on progressives. He posted some pictures and I have a habit of copying all posts every hour or so. I found one of his reel plays the other day. The jackpot starts at 1600 and it was 4020 when I started playing. 15 hours of play and I ended up winning 3840 total. I have read players calling him crazy but I always felt he never lied. He seemed to implode on this forum but I think he requested it out of emotional anger or something. I have that post saved and checked on some of it. One of the machines he wrote about gave full points so it works out to about 30 per hour or so. As someone said if you follow that map you will go broke and have back pain.

Thank You. For a long time I wanted to join but resisted. This thread was too interesting. I wish the OP was allowed back because I might be able to help him but I think the earn rate would be less than the 6k per month he was hoping for. I think 3k is possible.
I almost joined on the Plaza Tax day thread but was dissapointed to comment on it.

This is ugly. Is it possible for anyone new to Vegas trying to live from gambling not to lose 50% of his/her Bank Account? Perhaps the original poster was dreaming a bit to win 60k in a year from 40k but I read that post and they were asking if it was possible and if it wasn't possible they asked what was more realistic? I noticed nobody answered the question? I will try to ask a new question? If you have 40 thousand dollars for gambling only and gambling on all games in general what can you expect as an hourly rate? Not including some promotion or mistake, what could someone with general knowledge expect to make per year?
I would think that you would have a learning curve of some sort but you should be able to make a living in Vegas off of 40 thousand shouldn't you?

I did not know he is a member, but it wouldn't have changed my post. It was meant to be on the humorous side. But I respect your view.
I'm understanding already that there seems to be a society of made-men here who enjoy certain protections. Interesting. And this extraordinary fascination with suspensions, its list, and such a long rambling thread on it is mind-boggling to say the least.
My use of that "u" I guess is a product of my youth. My dad was in the USAF and our family lived and were schooled in the UK for 3 years. We also lived in Hawaii for 2 years and I went to college over there, but as far as I know I didn't pick up any of their customs (other than my wife of 6 years).

IE, Ditto.

It certainly is, and far be it from me to deny you your right to criticize. It just seems curious that someone with fifteen posts who has been a Member for seven days would feel that he has contributed so much to the Forum that it is appropriate to express such vehement opinions.
Equally curious is the apparent sentiment that anyone should care what someone with fifteen posts who has been a member for seven days thinks is, "Mind-Boggling."
You know, if it was someone who had previously been banned in a manner that he/she disagreed with, perhaps IP masking, I could see that. That happens somewhat frequently.

You're not seeing the entire picture, and instead seem to be forming your opinion based on other's past indiscretions.
It's true that I have not yet contributed much. I disagree with my voicing vehement opinions though. Just because a certain member of the in-crowd tries to claim I'm whatever a "sock puppet" is and he turns out to be wrong (which I'm sure you & he would rather have "so far" added to that statement) it doesn't mean I'm some trouble maker from the other side of the tracks. There appears to be a lot of suspicions around here, and I understand I have to accept it or leave.
I'm not as old as many of you but I'm no rookie to the gaming world either. So when I used the term mind-boggling, it's because of the length of the thread about suspensions and the huge amount of effort that's being put in to such a, in my opinion, time-wasting topic. I don't know of any reasonable person who would disagree with that.
