Patron came along and brought it to the bartenders attention, who notified security and a floor person. Turned out they shut down the machine for awhile, waiting for the guy to come back. Bartender was annoyed as it was a full bar and she lost a seat.
Being the devious person I am, I wondered how to use this to my possible advantage.
Do you think you could get away with shutting down a machine when the bank is approaching a must hit by, or a large progressive?
If there are three linked machines and you can eliminate one, the odds of you hitting it go up quite a bit.

I doubt you could get away with it more than once but if the progressive prize was large enough once would be enough. The trouble is most progressives that I am familiar with have umpteen zillion machines nicking the players to accumulate that Progressive Jackpot, so shutting down one ain't no big deal.
Crowded bar? Put a plastic box over the machine but let someone sit and order drinks there. When floor man says "okay, that jerk's been gone long enough", then they get the two dollars in free play.
Note: Do you enjoy Hendertucky, home of the smoking low rollers?
By the way, houses in my zip code are in the top five zip codes in Nevada. Not that it affects me, as I rent.
The casinos there are too limited to ever grow much. Surveillance equiipment rules by the Gaming Board actually limit some casinos in Vegas since they can't make structural rennovations over the casino.
Do Progressives with only a few machines in the loop actually exist? I know some of those big name progressives have multiple machines in multiple casinos, so disabling one would be meaningless.
I vote stupid. You need an extra person to pull this off and better off taking the seat and playing it. Casinos aren't stupid, they take countermeasures and might not act the same in this case.Quote: billryanI was playing Today in Henderson and a guy two games down from me walked away, leaving about two dollars in the machine.

Should I be offended? I live about one mile due south of you.

As the horse farms are directly behind me, you need to worry about the wind from the north.
