Look for a reduction in pay tables very shortly at Cosmo. Probably some discussion that they didn't know that this size win was possible as well. Paying a $1M over 20 years with IGT on a WOF slot is a big difference than this.

Actually he was betting $5 per hand ($500 total since he was playing 100 hands at a time).
This is great for the Cosmo, and for Las Vegas, as the publicity generated by big wins encourages players to try their luck.
Casinos are not interested in accuracy; they are more interested in puffery. Headlines bring in sheep. Penny machines make people think they are not risking much, bells and whistles distract and entertain, pretty 'tray lizards' provide distractions as do pretty BJ dealers, party pits are not known for accuracy. No one wants accuracy they want another drink and another spin on the machine.Quote: billryanFive hundred a spin would have been more accurate.

It's already 9/6 TDB (98.15%) instead of 9/7 TDB (99.58%)...the paytables aren't going anywhere, imo. Their head slot manager (he occasionally posts at another forum I post at) seems to be pretty knowledgeable at VP and is totally aware they offer full pay Jacks at that level. $400,000 is less than a day's gaming revenue for them. Luck happens. I have faith he won't overreact to a one-off.

he might not but he has bosses too, so who knows.
If anything, its free advertising for the casino.
At $500 a spin, it's only 800 spins.
I had a friend win $750,000 at a slot machine in the Midwest. Seemed like a lot, but I think he was also betting $500 a spin. Lost it all back before the end of the trip.
That's the thing about degenerates. They don't stop.
2) $400,000 is terrific, but it seems there aren't many hits like these. How many people really play HL VP? Wouldn't they get as much attention? This story has been shared on every forum I visit. I do realize the odds of this hand dealt are 215,000, but royals HL are more frequent. Maybe not many play this max bet, makes sense there.
3) $500 a hand, put that on the bucket list.
