Since I only started playing video poker in 2009 (and I don't play much), I'm curious about the history of older VP games which have gone extinct. Would love to hear any stories people are willing to share...

I started about 2001, but I really didn't leave my bedroom much until 2006 when they made me get out of the house with the so-called "Port Security Act". I discovered online video poker first and it was much too juicy to go outside into the fresh air. Maybe some folks remember the paytable on Intercasino's (Cryptologic) Double Bonus. That was pretty cool. Anyway, I know of the 10/6 at the Strat, and maybe 9/7 also. I think some of the old timers here might be able to tell you some stories about the Frontier that would interest you. Also, there is an elusive paytable on JW2 that I've heard stories about which was positive without including the royal. I think that's how it went, anyway. I've never seen it. There may be some at the bottom of the La Brea Tar Pits. And, of course, not so long ago and probably still around were certain games on Bally Game Makers with 400 for the Straight Flush.
That's what little info I can offer to the thread. But I'm like you, Mamat, I would like to hear stories about this subject also.
The only game I want to think about, cause not too many know about it, and it is hard to find any information but it was fun...
I actually day dream about finding it in some run down casino in the back hidden somewhere by accident!
Draw Till You Win !! :)

Intercasino was my bread n butter. They had a bonus for your first deposit each month.

lol They were great. And once Neteller came into the picture it was a breeze to put money in and out. Intercasino was very player-friendly so anyone who got in trouble with them must have really been stupid. There were a few others that used their software, Cryptologic, if I can remember, Sands of the Caribbean and Omni, I think they were sisters. And there were some others that weren't quite as good. But Intercasino was the best. Their "Double Bonus" that I mentioned paid 2 coins for two pair and I think the royal was 4700, I think, and it penciled in at 99.95% or something like that. They finally got smart and changed it to regular 9-7 Double Bonus, but it was still great with the bonuses. Of course, they had poker bonuses too, if I remember. They even had 8-5 JoB progressive for quarters and dollars, but they rarely went positive.
The progressive that I fondly remember was called Mega Jacks and it was, and still is, on Playtech software. It was for quarters, and re-sets to 300 or 400, and I think has a 2% meter. I cracked it a few times when it was quite high.
Then it all went to pot when the Feds moved on it. That is what finally got me out of my bedroom and made me get dressed and take a shower each day, whether I needed it or not.

That rings a bell, but my memory is foggy. Maybe Mickey or Dancer wrote about it.
When Stratosphere opened they followed suit and they did have .25 10/6 and 9/7. I probably played them once or twice for a few minutes. I could be wrong about .25 being the highest denomination, but I don't remember anything higher than .25.
It definitely wasn't worthwhile playing at the time since there were much better options all over. Stratosphere even had an oddball version of linked .25 Flush Attack. it was over 1.5%. Every 4th flush gave the fist person to the 4th one 125 coin bonus. I don't remember the exact pay-table I thought it was 9/10/4 (10 on average after the 4th flush) , but that seems a bit high coming in at 2.9%.
A few small banked AP's would try to play straight through starting at 2:am when there wasn't any AP's or opportunist ploppys around, however that was dangerous because someone could keep jumping in every time they set off the FA bonus mode. Most of the AP's kinda knew each other and respected what they were doing so they normally wouldn't jump in. Overall they did ok playing those machines.
I can't remember when they took out the 25 10/6 and 9/7 I wasn't welcome in there anymore shortly after 2002.
Quote: MBThis thread made me remember the days of online blackjack bonus whoring...a Playtech rep called me and gave me another $1k bonus. Edge with the bonus was ~4%.
Those were the days.
