the best part about being Diamond for me is the free rooms/no resort fees and the free food at the lounges.
I never thought of going for 7Stars because grinding that many hrs per day at $1 single line 99% vp to get 2500tc for 5k bonus tc seems too much like a job.
ie: no longer fun
then I discovered $1 5play dstp (9/5 JoB), a 99% game.
it's $35 coin-in per spin. I can get 5k tc plus 10k bonus tc in 2 hrs!
10 days (20hrs) = 7 stars
and I LOVE playing dstp.
I love playing games with multipliers w/o having to learn a new strategy (like Ult X and multi strike),
but I also have discovered videopoker.com to get my dstp fix w/o spending/losing the $$$,
7stars gets a guaranteed free cruise, a signature event, $1200 in free airfare, and $400 more than Diamonds in celebration dinners certificates.
(I'm Aspirations Tier 1 diamond and have NEVER gotten free cruise offer from caesars.)
so is 7stars worth risking the $ in getting over a 25k tc Diamond?
edit:
In Atlantic City, you need 25k tc to get into Diamond lounges for free.
for 15k - 24999 Diamonds, it costs 1000 rc ($10).
Quote: billryanReally? Low Diamonds are excluded from their own club?
in AC, it costs 1000 rewards credits to get into a Diamond lounge if you have less than 25k tc.
A little bit of a grind to make 25k tc playing $20coin-in per tc 9/6 JoB (99.5%) so that limits the amount of daily moochers
If I recall correctly Diamond was like -230 +/- 2500? ...so 7 star would be like -2300 +/- 25,000?

You can also get a free trip to Atlantis and I believe it is 2 free cruises. 1 is completely free and 1 you still have to pay the fees.
If you have the bankroll to do it and would actually use everything then I say go for it. There are definitely a lot of perks.
Quote:Well, by my own logic I guess that would just amplify the EV/SD 10 fold?

Shouldn't the std dev. go up by the square root of the number or hands?
So if diamond is -230 +/- 2500, seven star would be -2300 +/- 8000.
Still large but not quite so volatile.

I've never been 7star and I've gotten cruises for free from them for 12 years now. Just fwiw.
Also,.the easier way is to take a cheap Norwegian Cruise Line cruise (oct-dec is the best time to get really low fares) ,sign up for their players club ahead of time, play big. It will take a few months, but they will offer free cruising directly for years after that. NCL is CET'S cruise provider, so it's the same, except Casinos At Sea (NCL) offers tend to be better than what CET provides.
Quote: JoeshlabotnikYou can be pretty much certain that whatever you get out of CET will not be worth the losses you have to suffer to do so. They, pretty much uniquely among casino operators, have fine-tuned their rewards system so that you CANNOT derive an advantage from it (of any kind) and that furthermore, you will definitely lose 3-5 times the value of what you get in return for your action. They understand the racket very, very well.
Not necessarily, I think lots of people have learned to game the system on Total Rewards.
Quote: DRichNot necessarily, I think lots of people have learned to game the system on Total Rewards.
My admittedly limited experience is that heavy TR/CET players tend to overvalue the goodies they get. The value of a comp is only what you would have paid in cold, hard cash for that benefit. You get two comped nights in the Sucker Suite at Caesar's Commode. The rack rate for the two nights is $1090 total, but would you have spent that much on a room if you had to pay for it yourself? Similarly, if you are dining on succulent rack of aardvark at CET Goomay, would you have paid $200 for that privilege?
CET jacks up the perceived value of comps by quoting rack rate for everything. They "give away" cruises, for example, that aren't actually free and that no one in their right mind would pay full retail for (even a moron can figure out how to get cruises for half price or less). But you feel better about yourself when you get a "comped $3000 cruise," and you're more grateful and inclined to return to the CET slot machines as a result.
Quote: RSLet's not delve much further into the CET stuff...I know where DRich is heading and I don't like it! :(
I agree loose lips.

Ya the 7 star dining area behind Caesers palace HLR has severly cut back their offerings because of youse peoples. I didn't get a cookie and was very upset. I drove to the longhorn for my high limit gaming after that travesty.

best vp on ncl is 9/5 ddb (97.9%).
MEH!
and they offer HORRIBLE points for craps!
1st free cruise with ncl I lost $1900 on craps.
got like 800 points. and more importantly, no offers. :(

I don't know how long it's been since your cruise, but you might call the Casino At Sea people and remind them of your play if you want to get on their comp cruise list. It took a long time compared to nearly any other peogram to start receiving mail.

I played small time in April of 2015 and have received nothing in the mail at all. I played about 2k coin in on UX, maybe 5k coin in on VP, and played $10 hand BJ for maybe 12 hours total. I was an overall winner by about $600 due to a JOB royal and a vultured ux royal.
Quote: gamerfreakWhat always scared me about specifically setting out for 7 stars is that there is no guarantees. It's invite only, even if you get enough TC. There's a few stories on here of VP players getting enough TC, and still not being given the 7S status.
thought the only reason for rejection for 7S was that you owed markers, or was banned from one of the caesars properties.
I know 2 people who made 7S just by playing poker when it was 50tc per hr in the poker room.
(10hr day = 500tc + 125 bonus tc. 240 hrs = 7S)
link to 7S rejections due to just playing vp?

how many points did you earn on your tier card on that cruise?
And if vultured Royal had multiplier, Pic? (just want to see one.)

If you play 10 sessions of 50k VP or 25k slots, I can't imagine you'd get denied entry.
If you did 10 sessions of 50k VP the first 10 days of the year and eat at the diamond lounge 700 times a year and use a 5-night room comp every 7 days and use every FP/food/promotion/etc. offer then I can definitely see why you wouldn't get invited for the next year.
Or if you have outstanding markers (or perhaps debts, unpaid overdue markers). Or if you cause trouble etc.

Some "I heard about a guy" nonsense but nothing I would say constitutes definitive proof.
Quote: BTLWISome "I heard about a guy" nonsense but nothing I would say constitutes definitive proof.
Wasn't saying I had definitive proof, just saying that they absolutely stipulate that it's invite only, and that makes me nervous.
There was no reason for them to change it to invite only, other than to deny certain individuals.Quote: BTLWISome "I heard about a guy" nonsense but nothing I would say constitutes definitive proof.
Not only have they denied people (AP's) they have 86ed them upon an assessment review of a 7 star upgrading of their accounts. (lesson learned)
If you find something that's super good for obtaining 7 star, I suggest not crossing that threshold, it's not worth exposing the play and getting 86ed. Just get the top Diamond level and tell your friends.

I can't imaging a casino would 86 people for finding a cheap way of upgrading their member tiers. If they found ways to upgrade and earn large $$$ at the same time, then it's different. The casino always reserve the right to downgrade your membership if they don't like you. But 86 is bit too far?
I know a lot of or regular players who do+would+enjoy abuse a casino advantage if the opportunities exist. So maybe for 3 months, the profit from players equals the free food/hotel. Then the casino can fix the problem and those players start to generate net profit for the casino once again for years to come. Why push profitable customers to your competitors?

If you're chipping away at tiers playing only to your advantage, you're demonstrating that you're going to be a net loss to the casino as a highly comped player. That's different than playing things with a house edge that can't be overcome and you happen to win along the way. The house is willing to trust that an initial win will bring you back to lose eventually and overall in that case. But someone who plays perfect vp strategy on only the best return machines and wins is maybe not so desirable a customer, for example. Or a person who uses every room, every diamond lounge, every coupon, every drink 4+ days a week while grinding small amounts just costs them money.
Their ideal customer is someone who shows up 2-4 times a year, gambles hard for long hours at bad games, stays 4-7 days, and goes away. I did that with them in the late 90s thru late 2000s and got way over comped for years and years. NASCAR tickets, top show tix (Streisand, Elton John, Celine, Bette), cage cash, suites, folio credit, cruises, flights, diamond jewelry, leather jackets, on and on. And I was playing nickel slots, $5 pgp, maybe a couple other things, but all cheap.
I never wanted a host; they insisted I should have one. Host would come by while I was playing, drop tickets to some show on me or something, just to say thanks for coming out. Several times, especially in Vegas, it was the manager or another top-level person. They catch up with you when you're playing rated, I guess, just to make you feel valued. It works.

you're 7stars?
if not, how much did you lose while low-rolling a couple of decades agog?
It's very unlikely they will do this playing the normal games offered for the average person or even advantage player. But let's pretend you found a hidden +EV machine and were raping the offers then you hit the 7 star mark a host or someone is going to look closer at your account before you're upgraded. If they don't like what they see they have/can/will take further steps. It's rare, it takes a perfect storm and usually reserved for unique individuals and situations. For example: If Mr. Supergrass finds a 10/6 $2 machine hidden at the bar. Then he, his wife and brother all bang away, meanwhile using all the offers, there's a good chance once you hit 7S you won't be welcomed back.Quote: supergrassI can't imaging a casino would 86 people for finding a cheap way of upgrading their member tiers. for 15k - 24999 Diamonds, it costs 1000 rc ($10)."
Just for general information, that rule is also in place at Caesars Windsor
