Quote: WizardofnothingMaybe it expired a couple months before you realized and they had them up and ready to go?
I think the patent expired about a year ago. ME probably knows exactly.
Quote: doughtakerI've seen a couple of media articles state that IGT's exclusivity goes through November 2016. However, I recall that a few years back when WMS released their "My Poker" machines, on some games the information screens had wording to indicate that they licensed the use of a variant's name (e.g. Double Double Bonus Poker) from IGT. Is it possible that Scientific Games could've paid a licensing fee to use multi-hand functionality through Nov. 2016?
I'm getting a headache.
I actually liked the William my poker. fun game winning streak VPQuote: tringlomaneConsidering how MyPoker worked out earlier this decade...why are they trying? And they mostly failed because the paytables were pathetic. What surprised me is that Triple Triple Bonus is on select IGT games now. I briefly played it the 9/6/3 version (99.75%) to no avail at Majestic Star last week. Did WMS not copyright that name?
Back to the triple play discussion. I still thought IGT had the exclusive rights until sometime this year. Regardless, it would make sense for WMS to get a head start on all the other companies in the industry by getting it out on the casino floors before others. Maybe IGT licensed the use of the patent out to them or maybe it did expire already. Very interesting conversion because it seems like the information is not made available to the public and it forces everyone to develop their own beliefs.
Anyone know if the WMS triple play games are still at Red Rock?

Nice page, thanks for your efforts.
I did notice a minor error where you were playing. You wrote for the 2nd hand:
Quote:The aces improved to a two pair. Since it was a paying hand, it moved up to level one. In my second hand, I held the four of spades.
I may not have had enough coffee this morning because I was puzzled by the fact that I could not see a "four of spades" in that hand and then I realized you meant to say "I held the FOUR spades".
Quote: DRichIGT's patent isn't on multi-hand video poker. It is specifically on replicating a held card from one hand to another.
I agree, but there is no way to do triple play without replicating the hand, unless you have a totally new hand for each additional hand you want to use.

They're still there with 3, 5, and 10-play. I rarely see anyone on them.

Thanks for the update.
Quote: RealizeGamingNow that we are in December, does anyone have any information on the expiration of Erine Moody's "Triple Play Patent?" I've been searching the Internet for reading material on this topic and I can't find anything.
I don't know exactly what you are looking for but I believe the patent number is 5,732,950 and you can look it up at the uspto.gov website.
patents.google.com
I don't know if it is better or worse than the government database.
I just thought with it expiring, their would have been more news articles about it since it was such a dominate patent. Maybe that information is in the works.
