All the Boyd properties are fairly middle of the road. But I've never had a bad experience at any of them. They won't knock your socks off but they are solid.
The downtown rooms are small and the Fremont rooms still have Sloan valves on the toilets.
Gold Coast rooms are suprisingly nice but you can have a long walk from the elevator. There are a LOT of gambling and dining options there. Probably one of the best casinos for pure gambling in town.
I would disagree but I haven't been there in a while. I ALWAYS get a comp to the Noodle Exchange or Ping Pang Pong. Why go anywhere else? The Boyd buffets have always been exceedingly average. Once in a while they will have a good item or two.Quote: mcallister3200Do NOT eat the Gold Coast buffet. The worst Ive had in Vegas other than the former aptly named Terrible's.

An aversion to long drawn out meals, if not much of a line or get a line pass I'll almost always pick a buffet for time reasons. Gold Coast I'd spend the extra time I guess.
Quote: mcallister3200I've found MSS to be decent although a bit overrated given lack of decent buffets downtown, Orleans next, Sams town Fremont and Suncoast are at least edible. Gold coast comes in last for sure IMO.
I preferred the MSS Buffet to that of the GN, which I considered to be somewhat overrated. With that said, buffets just kind of depend on what day you go, sometimes, in terms of who is preparing the food and what items you happen to get. I've been to each buffet once, and if I were to go to each again next time I am in Vegas, I would not be at all surprised to find that my opinion is the other way around and I will prefer GN to MSS.
We are going to do four nights of July and I think my friend might prefer just to go to the Downtown grand and then go over to Main Street station. The rest of us will be at Treasure Island or a Harrah's property of some sort but he really likes downtown and I totally understand that.

The GN buffet sucked a$$!! Fremont Sunday brunch was good. Can't screw up breakfast.
