When drawing more cards, is it possible to get the same card in 2 different positions?
For example, you're dealt AAA58 and hold the AAA and screen looks like this:
A A A _ _
A A A _ _
A A A _ _
Is it possible to get an A on the top right spot and bottom right spot so it'd look like this:
A A A _ A
A A A _ _
A A A _ A
Where _'s are other not-important cards?

Not possible
At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.

So then are the odds still the same? You no longer truly have the possibility of completing every hand.
On a 10 line machine, you have the possibility of drawing the Ace of Clubs on all 10 lines (for a 10x royal flush). In spin, not so. The best is 5x when it should be 9x.

That's because that depending on the position of that drawn card, you could be completing different numbers of royals. For instance, if you were drawing to the center reel, the number of royals completed would be (top to bottom) 2, 5, and 2. The various reel positions are weighted in that some positions fall on more lines than others, but as long as the total lines add up to 9, the EV is the same as if there had been nine separate lines.
You WILL experience higher volatility than on the equivalent conventional multi-line game, though, due to the reel weighting by position.

Define "odds". The EV is the same and the correct strategy is the same. The variance is different.
