If I did the math right that works out to a $1,250 bet, $25 denom * 5 credits * 10 hands at 800 to 1 payout.
It also means he was dealt the Royal Flush.
Has anyone ever heard of a bigger win on VP?
I know you lose 1-3% on those 50 play and 100 play machines but that is always the dream of people is to get the dealt royal for one. Or the games where 4As + kicker pay out just as much.
Good question for the VP historians though.

It could have been a progressive and not a huge bet like you described above.

But it wouldn't be an even million either. This is the biggest one I've heard of so far. Followed by huck, the Super ddb hit for 250k at Rio, and 200k hit at Harrahs Joliet (dealt royal $5 10 play).
Quote: IbeatyouracesAs of today, I am no longer playing any VP except to use free play on it or vulturing multipliers on Ultimate X.
Why? Downgrade? New Year's resolution? Saw your win/loss for 2013 and looked worse than you thought?
Quote: IbeatyouracesNeed to be more proactive about AP. I can handle the losing aspect of it, you're supposed to lose! lol. I did get another dealt four aces yesterday on JoB while playing only one line and that $h!t pisses me off :-)
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't you start playing VP last year to burn through an enormous amount of free play you were getting? This is based on your blog entries.

The Huck Seed Royal is the highest denom machine I've ever seen that was in positive expectation. At $670,000 he had about 0.7% (plus the meter speed) the best of it.

I thought about that but I don't recall seeing a progressive Ten Play VP. It looks like there were a couple of other big VP wins in the days after that jackpot in the 50,000 - 100,000 range. Barona's website scrolls a list of jackpot winners with the amount, game, and date won.
Closest I've come to a big jackpot at VP was playing nickel 100 hand and getting dealt 4 to a royal. One card away from $20 grand. And then I only got one RF out of the 100 hands.
Quote: IbeatyouracesA friend of mine had 4 to a royal on a hundred play game a few years ago. He got skunked.
Most I pulled was 4 on 50 play with 4 to it.
Bad beat: it was on pennies :(

I also had 4 on a 50 play. At least mine was dimes.

I see something funny about the Huck Seed picture. It says the handpay is for $670k, it says there's $711k on the machine, but the current win on the bottom left says $706k. I don't play vp much but I have hit two taxables. The machines would never show contradictory numbers like that.
I went through the vpFree pictures until I got sick of it. The Singer hit of $50k seems to be the highest on a single line machine besides Seed's, if Seed's is real. Just for four 3s too. How hard is that to get?

There is nothing suspicious at all, TK. Take a look again. You will see that a handpay is required of $670,665.60. Huck was making a five coin bet at $100 per coin. The number on the lower left 6706.656 is the number of coins they owe him. Multiply 6706.656 by 100 coins worth $100 each and you get $670,665.60. The article with the picture says Huck frequently bought $40,000 tickets to play video poker, hence he had about $40,000 worth of credits when he hit the royal. So he had an overall balance of 711K.

Bob Dancer's book "Million Dollar Video Poker" is built around Bob's wife Shirley hitting a $400,000 royal at the MGM Grand. MGM backed them off after that.
Aria has some 50-play $1 machines where if you are dealt a royal the PROGRESSIVE pays a jackpot starting at 1-million dollars.
About ten years ago I was dealt a royal on a 50-play DDB game at Mandalay Bay... but it was at 5-cents, paying $10,000.
Quote: IbeatyouracesYou missed the 6 in front of the 706.
O I see, thanks. The machine can't post 8 numbers.

Thanks mickey but I did read his book. I remember him saying that he kept going back to the MGM and staying at a place for high rollers called the Mansion? or something similar. If he was backed off it took some time.

I'm pretty sure i'd have a heart attack shortly after hitting something like that. Crazy!!!!

For me the idea of betting $1,250 per spin is probably more crazy than the idea of winning a million dollars. Can't even imagine being able to do that. My last two VP sessions at Barona I lost at a rate of over 20% and that would add up to unimaginable losses at $1,250 per spin!
Quote: AlanMendelsonI didnt have a heart attack when I was dealt a royal on the 50 play game, but I did throw up. Luckily there was a big brass trash barrel at the end of the row of VP machines.
I dunno about you but I would be extremely quiet as the 4th card filled the screen, then probably jump up and down in an excited state as the 5th AKQJT of the same suit followed by the hold sign on all 5 cards. It's super fun getting a royal on one line dealt (this happened to me once), I can't even begin to describe how awesome it would be to get a multi-line one.
I thought about this, but what do you "high rollers" do about feeding the machines $100s? Can you ask a slot tech to make you a $5k ticket so you don't have to keep stopping to reload? Playing $25 a hand on a $5 machine must get old since half the time you are stuffing bills. I can't imagine sticking 5 benjamins per hand on a $100.

I'm not considred one of those high rollers but sometimes I do go after large denomination progressives (slots). If it's in the hi limit room you just bring your $5000, $10,000 or whatever to the attendant booth in the room and they make you a ticket for that amount so you can feed it into your machine. Works great.
Not sure why you are obsessed with RS 50k hit or why you think its the biggest single line VP jackpot. I hit for over 50k on a single line $5 Vp(note: only a $5 denomination) Progressive at the Stardust back in the 90's in less then 1hr of play.Quote: tournamentkingI see something funny about the Huck Seed picture. I have witnesses, I could probably dig up the old tax form. Its probably also documented in some legal paperwork concerning a beating lawsuit and 86ing after then hitting other jackpots and a $10k soon after on a $1 single line progressive.

Just relating it to other single line winners that I saw from the Huck Seed and vpfree links. RS's is interesting because it's just a simple quad, not even Aces. I know it's hardly the biggest (Dancer's ex's $400k for instance) but it's recent and not a blast from some obscure and distant past. And he didn't even say he needed someone else's money on some team to do it. But you're the greatest axel, we all know that.

Are you sure about that? I don't remember ever seeing those. My quick math says that would be over 100% on 9/6 JOB.

They are right outside the poker room, I think.
