Quote: IbeatyouracesAnd today holding just the ace of hearts. A reverse sequential royal!
That's a sequential royal. Reverse is Ace to Ten.
Quote: IbeatyouracesEither way I'd suppose. And I made this the hard way.
My best draw ever was, I held a single ace, and drew 3333. Too bad I was playing JoB instead of DDB or TDB.
Hit a reverse sequential Royal Flush on 8/5 Bonus Poker (triple play). $1,461.00 progressive jackpot.
Quote: GWAEThere is a single line ddb bonus game at the Showboat that has a sequential in either direction progressive. It is 33k right now.
Do you know what will happen to Showboat's progressives? How will the money be returned to the players (if there is such a New Jersey law)?
I am not sure what will happen to the progressives when they close. I believe when the Atlantic Club closed the progressives went to the tropicana.

Rob Singer would go back and play it no matter what the full house or lesser hands paid. Even if they all only paid 1.
Not once he hit his "win goal".
.Quote: BTLWIWow this pay table is garbage, time to quit DB while ahead.
Nice hit! Was this the best game STP game they offered? Usually 8/5 DDB is available at quarters.
And I'm really starting to get jealous of you Ibeatyouraces. I missed 4 to a royal on nickel spin poker one lining it a couple of weeks ago. Fortunately there weren't any royals anywhere I guess.
You're mostly playing tables at mgm right? What was the paytable of that bonus game?
Quote: IbeatyouracesYeah but win goals don't mean squat if you come back later or the next day. But, whatever makes those people happy.
I disagree with peoples opinions on here with win goals. I know it means nothing in the long run but I definitely use them. Today my goal was $100 or 90 mins whichever came first. I was lucky enough to hit AAAA9 on DDB so I was up about 180. I kept to my goal and at 90 minutes I left at +$165. I am happy with even though my session will continue on Friday. Whatever keeps me in the right frame of mind is what matters.

What they're joking about though is that Rob changes his strategy based on where he stands relative to his goal. You don't do that right? Edit: Maybe not after a reread, but I thought I've read singer does this.
Generally speaking stop points in either direction are good for most rec gamblers I think. I don't follow them as much as I should though.

You may use them, but that doesn't make them meaningful.
I guess they might make you gamble less which will make you lose less in the long run?

Why?

I think that is probably the key. If I start with a $100 bankroll for the week and play till $200 I will get to play again on another day. If I were to play for 3 or 4 hours I would probably be broke. After a week I have played the same amount of time but doing it over the course of a few days makes me feel better about it.
Quote: IbeatyouracesAsk yourself this question...
If you had an endless supply of multipliers to vulture on UTX, would you quit when you won a certain amount?
Yeah probably. 10 or 20 million dollars would be enough for me to retire.

well of course no never, but there is a different between playing a 97.49 vp vs a 287.65 UX
Now if you want to say would you stop if you were playing a 100.49 game then I would answer yes.
I still want the Double STP jackpot before getting one of these though.
My dad got his first royal on this trip. He was playing nickel 8/5 bonus poker at the California:
Quote: IbeatyouracesThe game is not +EV nor is it close. No sense playing max. And I'm not stupid enough to go for the royal ;-)
I am really curious about your play here. You seem to play it a lot, and you say that the pay is crap. It can't just be based on coin-in, because then there is no difference between playing max and playing 1 line. Are you jut slow-playing for free drinks or something? :)
Quote: IbeatyouracesNothing special. Just slow play nickels and been getting a string of unusual hands. Pays for all of the free Coke :-)
So this isn't the 9/6 game anymore I guess?
I play 8/5 DDB nickel spin poker at the bar at Gold Strike Tunica for "free beer" as their waitresses are swamped usually. I can never get a drink from a waitress there.
Missed another four to a royal there last trip. At least it didn't fall above or below I suppose.
Quote: GWAEaww tring, I saw your name on the jackpot thread and thought you were posting about your first real royal.
Lol yeah right. 23 months and counting. Breaking that in Vegas next week would be nice though. Hell breaking it yesterday while picking off a multiplier off dollar ultimate x would even have been nicer. I have to settle for a $90 full house for now that was mostly profit.

The other day on a $2 5 play UX I had 3x on all 5 games. It was DDB and was dealt 22xxx. I ended up bricking them all for a $50 loss.
