Quote: AyecarumbaCongrats Wizard! Does the machine put the royal in the "large" position automatically, or did it just happen that the first hand was the one to hit?
Thanks. No, I just happened to hit it on the bottom. Each of the five hands has the same chances.
Quote: kewljCongrats Mr wiz. Wouldn't it be incredible to be dealt the royal (initial 5 cards) on a multi-hand game and end up with 5 or 10 or even 50 royals? Anyone ever experience that, even at small coin?
I've had only one dealt royal in my life, but it was on a single-line game, and for a small bet.
It's nice to see the great leader get a royal.
Quote: WizardWho doesn't like a picture of royal flush? This thread is a place to show them off, like old women show off pictures of grandchildren. I'll start out with one I hit today. This was a the Riviera on a $2 5-play 9-6 double double bonus game. Yeah, I know, not the greatest game, but they are running a drawing that I think has value.

Nice hit! Thanks for sharing with us.
Quote: winmonkeyspit3Nice hit! How much were you betting to win $8060? It says bet 25 on the bottom but then 5 up on the top of the screen. I am not familiar with video poker. Also considering the hit was for $8060 and your cash amount is 8100 it looks like you hit toward the end of the session which makes it nice too.
I would guess it is 5 credits per hand, and 25 total for all 5 hands. $50 per spin.
Wiz, I don't see a player's club card in the machine. Do you not have your play tracked for comps?
Very nice hit my friend!
Quote: WizardI've had only one dealt royal in my life, but it was on a single-line game, and for a small bet.
Me too. Just (progressive) $1 VP. Considering the long odds against it almost seems like a waste.
Then follow the directions under the 'formatting codes' link
At the bottom of the WOV page when you hit reply.

When you hit anything of $1200 or more the machine freezes up and they have to take out the card and put in a special key card to clear it. I imagine they hadn't done that yet. Yes, I always use a player card when playing video poker.
It used to be that you could pull out your card when dealt four to a royal, so the casino wouldn't know about the big win if you hit the royal, making you look like a loser, which results in better comps and offers. However, as was discussed on my radio show two weeks ago, that doesn't work any longer.

I always tell people that they are essentially playing a slot machine, just one that requires skill, but nobody ever listens to me. There is nothing wrong with that, of course, except with VP you have fixed ER where a Progressive slot machine offers an ER that is not fixed and occcasionally greater than that of VP. As discussed in another thread, the math on the Quick Hits Progressives is such that you can easily determine what your ER is and the only mistake to be made is to accidentally not hit the, "Max Bet," button.

It was a $2 machine, and presumably he bet the maximum 5 credits ($10) per hand (otherwise a royal flush pays only 125 for 1 instead of 800 for 1). The top says 5 because right below it, it lists the pay table for each hand.
It's $8060 instead of $8000 because, in addition to the Royal ($2/credit x 5 credits x 800), the upper-left hand appears to be a flush (2 x 5 x 6; he said it was a "9-6" machine, which means 9 for 1 for a full house and 6 for 1 for a flush).

I see one of your Royals was on a Flush Attack game. I always thought the Flush Attack game paid the Flush Attack bonus for a Royal and Straight flush. I used to play the linked ones and I thought they did. Maybe I was mistaken.

Nope, didn't pay the flush bonus, considering it was a ROYAL flush...but then again, I wasn't complaining, lol.

You need to put the image location in the brackets, where photo.jpg is right now...

Quote: AyecarumbaWhat happened on that foggy night at the Atlantis?
LOL, that's not fog...I hit that in the "skywalk" (Non-Smoking) area of Atlantis..which is just basically a GIANT glass atrium, and it happened to be a sunny day, and when it is, the sun BEAMS in and reflects off the screen on the slant-top machines...and well...that's the effect it gives...it actually makes it extremely hard to see the screens...

That's a very bad example because JB put the picture on this website.
You have to put your picutre somewhere on a public website, then reference the photo by location as well as name.
For example, I have a photo of myself on my DJTeddyBear website, in a folder called images. The name of the photo is rd_photo.gif
To get you to see it, I'd type in [img=http://djteddybear.com/images/rd_photo.gif]
Note: Quote this message to see what I did. You'll see that I have extra brackets around the brackets above.
Admin note: removed image www.djteddybear.com/images/rd_photo.gif
Without the extra brackets, you see the actual photo.

First, you need to have your own images (that you want to post) stored somewhere on the web, such as at photobucket.com.
Instead, let's assume for a moment you have your own web domain named "strictlyAP.com" and in the "images" folder there you have saved a photo called "MyJackpot.jpg". Then, in a post like yours that shows the Welcome to Las Vegas sign, instead of "[img=/welcome.jpg]" you would put "[img=http://www.strictlyAP.com/images/MyJackpot.jpg]".
But the first step is to find a spot on the web to store your photos and get them uploaded there. I own my own domain, so I store photos there. Several people around this forum use photobucket.com, and your ISP may also provide space for you to store files. If you find a way to get your photos stored on the web and still have trouble getting them posted into the forum, ask again and someone will help your further. Until your images are available on the internet, there's not much else we can do to help you post them. I have never used photobucket, so I can't advise you much on how to make use of that service.
Edit: Ooops! Once again, DJTB beat me to the post.
Quote: strictlyAPhow come you just cant upload the image like i do on facebook?
This web forum (i.e, the Wizard) isn't offering to store your data for you. This site just displays your data stored elsewhere. Facebook operates differently.
Quote: strictlyAPhow come you just cant upload the image like i do on facebook?
you could link it off facebook...but I think people who DIDN'T have a facebook (or at least weren't your "friends") wouldn't be able to see it...

Yeah, I got one this Presidents' Day at the Flamingo. But I was mainly playing there for the comped drinks and the easy view of the "Pleasure Pit" since it was a crap 6/5 Bonus game with Super Times Pay. I won 24,000...pennies Seeing the machine autohold was a nice thing as well. :)

Coulda been worse...at least he was playing 5-credits per line (or 6 in this case of STP)...
Quote: strictlyAPid kill myself on a 100 line play getting dealt a royal and not having on line on
But playing all lines on a machine like that (97.14% optimal) is lighting money on fire; CET sucks for video poker. :( My main goal was to get a buzz and stare at boobs. If I am wagering $6/round, it would need to be a machine that was near or above 100%. Looking back, I obviously wish I was betting more though, and it's still better than wasting it on a single line machine. :)
Quote: TIMSPEEDCoulda been worse...at least he was playing 5-credits per line (or 6 in this case of STP)...
Yeah, I think the guy next to me was playing 75 lines at 2 credits per hand; he only wins $375 if he gets it. I see lots of people play max lines on these things for less than 5 credits/hand.
Was very nice!

Isn't that the hand when the 10X multiplier is supposed to show up? Or would asking for that be greedy? :)
Been dealt one royal in my life: on a nickel multi-strike game, second level as I recall...

Ideally yes that is when it should show up. :) When playing Double Super Times Pay (not regular STP), if you get a dealt royal with any deal multiplier (1 in 15 chance for deal multiplier), you automatically get a 10x Deal and a 10x Draw multiplier for a total multiplier of 20x. In terms of video poker "jackpots" it's probably the biggest one I'm aware of. It should happen once every 9.74 million deals on average.

Wow, just once for that to happen... :)
Quote: ScotI got my first Royal last month on a cruise. The payouts were awful (6/5) on the normal video poker machines at a quarter, so I was playing the nickel spin poker, 3 lines, which strangely was 7/5. Still not great, but at 75 cents a spin, it was worth the entertainment.
Nice hit!
And sometimes payouts between machine work that way. For example, the best paying machine I am aware of at the Imperial Palace (now The Quad) in Las Vegas, is a nickel, dime, quarter All Star Poker machine that offers 7/5 Bonus Poker with Super Times Pay (STP). The STP bonus bet makes that machine better paying than all their other 7/5 Bonus machines they have.
Also when JoB pays as low as 6/5 or even 7/5, it's nice to know how to play other poker variants and what their paytables pay because it's likely one of them is higher paying. One time I told someone next to me he should be playing 6/5 Bonus Poker w/Double STP vs. 6/5 JoB w/Double STP because he'll get paid more on quad Aces, 2s, 3s, and 4s and exactly the same on everything else. He listened to me, and he ended up hitting quad Aces within 10 minutes for an extra $13.75. For machines commonly available for nickels, playing 6/5 Bonus is better than 7/5 JoB as well.
Quote: ScotThanks for the great suggestion. I have recently begun learning the proper strategies on Deuces Wild and Double Double Bonus poker. I was doing this more for variety, but you have pointed out another good reason for me to get better acquainted with the other games strategies.
Ditto this--I was playing 3 play Triple Double Bonus for quarters and got dealt quad 3s. I hit one kicker for a total of $700. Playing 50 hands for a penny I was dealt quad 7s for $125. I figure I'm not likely to see a royal with the small amount of playtime I get so I may as well play the games that pay a lot for quads.
Quote: FarFromVegasPlaying 50 hands for a penny I was dealt quad 7s for $125.
I am one of the few people in this spot that plays 10 hands at 5 cents each instead. Considering one of my 3 royals lifetime was dealt to me on a penny machine (pg. 4 has pic), I am glad I did since it added ~$150 to the payout. It can happen; I just wish I was playing more than 6 hands at that moment!
