J(H), 10(H), K(D), 8(S), 2(C)
The program will tell me to keep the suited Jack and the 10, which is logical. But then an identical hand like the following pops up:
Q(H), 10(H), K(C), 6(D), 4(S)
And it tells me to keep the unsuited Queen and King!! It's like it's randomly telling me to hold one or the other... These examples are ones that I pulled out of the air so maybe I am missing something when it comes to how many cards are the same suit on the first hand dealt?? Is there a simple way to figure out when to hold the suited face card and the 10?? I really appreciate it!
Q(S), 10(H), K(H), 8(S), 2(C)
I thought I should have kept my ten and king (which are suited), but the game corrected me to keep the unsuited Queen and King. So this is for more straight possibilities then? Thank you so much for your help! I wish these trainers would have an explanation rather than just telling you what you should have held. Anyone comes up with that and I am buying it in a heart beat!!!!

Once you go years without hitting a royal you'll realize you need to make the best possible hand to keep playing before your bankroll is gone. Better to hold two high cards to try for a pair than two suited with gaps for the pie-in-the-sky royal. 3 or 4 to a royal gives you a better shot but be prepared to miss most of the time with those as well!

I think so.
If it makes you feel better, when I was a good deal younger and played VP on a handheld game, I'd occasionally have no face other than a Kc (or something) in my hand and reason, "I can't get a Royal holding this pair of Sevens, now can I?"
Of course, there was no money involved....

No, but you can sure as hell make 7-7-7-7-x which pads the bankroll UNTIL the Royal comes along. lol
I fed the two hands in the original poster's query into the analyzer. I assumed Jacks or Better 9/6. Here's the results:

While it doesn't specifically "tell" you why doing one thing is better than the other, the numbers help you figure it out.

You've been playing since then?!?! I am starting to think I am too behind the learning curve >:( I am not planning on giving up though...so sick and tired of being a "casino zombie" staring at a machine and chanting "bonus.....bonus...."! A friend of mine pointed that out to me while in the casino. I looked around and saw what he was talking about. That was the last night I played slots!!!!
I was using it at a bar-top machine last week at Four Queens. I think the bartender got curious and looked at it briefly but didn't say anything.Quote: bnelson7694I saw this on another post! Do you get in trouble if you use it in the casino??
The Four Queens.....ah, the very first casino I stayed at in Vegas!! Love it! They have the BEST gumbo upstairs! Everyone has to check it out if they still have it:)

Also video poker for winners will show you an auto generated strategy so you can try to learn all 30-40 steps rather than try to figure it out based on errors in play. The auto generated strategy will not be perfect play but the game will default to warning you when you make a move that is not perfect play so you should change the options to play against the strategy instead of perfect play.

Just FYI, it's technically illegal as it is in my homestate of Missouri. But most employees shouldn't really care.
