Not playing 6:5 BJ unless I intended to throw the money away to begin with.

I had a good session last night with a $10K buy-in and won $30K.

BJ's paying 20% less would have cut my profit by over $3.5K

Just reinforces my lack of desire to return anytime soon. And if I do to stay off the strip.

I know staff writers often don’t title their own articles, but it’s gotta be 90% plus that the author himself would be considered what’s labeled as a “deadbeat” or “undesirable.”

Just making some $675 & $1,350 BJ bets last night. The $675 paid $1,012.50 instead of a 6:5 payout of $810. The $1,350 paid $2,025 instead of a 6:5 payout of $1,620. So I can start collecting $1,000 chips with those blackjacks.

From the Article…

These changes are part of a broader effort by companies to make Las Vegas more of an upscale destination.

“You’re bringing in higher value customers, and we’re already full,” Caesars Entertainment Chief Executive Tom Reeg said on a call with Wall Street analysts this month. “So, you’re kicking out the lowest end. I see no reason that that needs to stop or would stop.”

This pretty much sums it up. OK by me...

The Motley Fool Podcast mentioned this article. Between the article and other behavior it appears Vegas is pulling a Disney and intentionally driving off anyone below upper middle class. Which would put things back to the pre-Wynn era when you at best went to Vegas once in your life unless you were "rich." That era changed things with all those new rooms to sell. Now those rooms are full so jack the prices on everything.

I additionally seem to see Vegas becoming for Asian travelers more than Americans. Rich Chinese will spend bigger than middle-America. Gaming wise one starts to think they want high-limit tables and slots only. So far it is working for Disney, it will also work for Vegas. Right until it doesn't anymore.

I see that some sharp eyed reporters at ABC news have also broken the 6:5 blackjack story. According to their sources, this new payout is bad for players.

Full story at ABC News

Wow, I don't expect a national news organization to be a go to gambling source but jeez ... Where ya been, Jack?
Have you tried 22 tonight? I said 22.

Hasn't 6:5 BJ been around Vegas since the Great Financial Crash of 2008? Maybe it was just on the $5 tables then. But with table minimums of 3:2 BJ now at $25, that leaves all the $5, $10, & $15 tables at 6:5. I'd only show up to play 3:2 BJ.
