Quote: VCUSkyhawkWhat sh*tty service. Let us know what the host says. I understand that being a hostess can be stressful, but that is an awful way to react when dealing with guests.

Ughhhh

Nice trip. Always nice to come out ahead of them. Your trip seemed so much more relaxing than mine was. Hoping to head down there solo this weekend.
Just a question, I've noticed by reading some of your older trip reports as well that your play style is very 'hit and run'. Do your hosts ever say anything about that? There is nothing wrong with it, in fact small winning sessions are the way to play if you want to win, but I could see a host saying, "we need longer play out of you, just not 10 hands here (2 minutes), 50 here, etc."
As for the question about playing and how many hours I play - this is a brand new host, never had any dealings with him prior to Ocean. We shall see what happens to any future offers but, hey, $3300 is $3300 in my pocket
Finally, checking out this morning there was a regular line and a Black Tier line -- the front desk clerk (the VIP check in/check out lounge was closed) repeatedly took from the regular line -- why even bother having a Black tier card?

It seems like you enjoyed yourself, and made some money so that is a good thing. However this would have infuriated me.

Jeez, Ace, don't they know you
play a lawyer on TV? That alone
should be worth some kind of
special perks..

I thought my stories of the player's club lounge and front desk situations would've brought joy to your world...?
I'd guess that the check out clerk was just doing what he always did and the fact that the guy who is supposed to handle the black tier line didn't show up for work didn't phase him at all, Or else maybe he has learned black tier people are less likely to riot. Its obvious the place needed more than two days of a soft opening to get the kinks out of their operations and that some of those people have got to be let go because they just don't care or can't react to changing situations. Even a burger flipper knows you have to respond to the crowds as they materialize, not as they were predicted to materialize.Quote: aceofspadesFinally, checking out this morning there was a regular line and a Black Tier line -- the front desk clerk (the VIP check in/check out lounge was closed) repeatedly took from the regular line -- why even bother having a Black tier card?
They just don't seem to have "floaters" at check in and check out ... people who show up and handle things when the lines get long.
Many restaurants have these movable signs "wait is about thirty minutes from this sign'' or something like that. Things can be slow, absenteeism can wreck a smooth operation , but people have to learn to deal with problems as they develop instead of 'following procedures' or 'writing memos'.

He has to be fair to both lines,
pissing people off means they
might not come back. You can't
really be mad at him for being
fair, it's not his idea to be manning
two lines.
Perhaps so. Its best to give the machines some privacy when they start doing that though.Quote: GWAEAce, you do know that you dont have to print a voucher on each win, right? Machines will use the foreplay before the cash.
Pictures of that many uncashed slot tickets were making me nervous.Quote: GWAEAce, you do know that you dont have to print a voucher on each win, right? Machines will use the foreplay before the cash.

That's how I learned to do it - I guess it stuck with me

What's to be nervous about?

Women are the complete opposite.
Quote: beachbumbabsAoS can answer for himself, but my hosts look at the total time playing per day as a factor. I've heard 3-4 hours a day as a threshhold goal in calculating future offers. But every property/chain has a different formula. And that's only 1 factor.
4 hours/day is typically what my hosts typically look for as well. I was just curious if they had an issue with short hit and run sessions (i.e. 10 hands at a time.) That's why I will sometimes switch over to bacc if I am having a big winning trip and want to lock in the win, but want to show more hours for my host. I can play 25% of the hands (as long as it's a table with a few players on it) and even when I do play, I am playing a game with a low house advantage.

Yeah, time for a new host. BS answer. With that service perspective, it's Revel 2.0

A win is a win. My gut tells me based on his previous response to your service issue at the Premier Lounge, if he had a problem with your play, he gladly would've let you know. Haha

I've seen minorities get a voucher for
any win over $10, then put cash
back in the machine. This is to hide
it from husband or wife who will
want a share of any winnings. Very
common practice.

With my current state of finances, I need to book wins
If it comes to a point where they don't want to comp me any rooms I am totally fine with that -- I can always do hit and run day trips -- so long as I have winning sessions - time playing does not factor into it for me

Hold the phone, Ace. I have video
proof that you're a millionaire.

That video is 8 years old EvenBob -- things change, especially after a show like that kills one's reputation in legal circles

The forum is doing you a disservice lending a place for you to keep the attention you desire going .
I’d suggest ga and maybe financial management courses

Yes very common. So much so I’ve seen whiteys do it too.

The public did not approve of an attorney actually acting like a red-blooded American heterosexual male.

Absolutely. Winning Sessions > Comps. No question about that.
I sometimes just feel obligated to play the 4 hours a day, unless the host specifically says don't worry....especially if I have a relationship with them. In the long run, I'd rather win more often and pay for the things they comp now.

Hah, I did a little digging and found what this is referencing. I'm tempted to rent the episode now. I assume you don't get any sort of residual?

I bought it several years ago. I like

Just caught it on streaming.
It’s absolutely absurd if any of that actually had negative consequences for you professionally.
