Quote: SOOPOOI never have considered going to a casino on T day. Is it similar to a Saturday? Busier? Empty? My local casino has sent emails enticing me to come the entire 4 day weekend with offers.... implying to me it is lighter than usual....
Just checked in / saw some tumble weeds / assuming the evening will be busy
trying to get some more action out when the going is good
rode the roller coaster for ¾ of a shoe then got an
Ace Ace v dealer 2
split
Ace 2
Ace 4
dealer 2 K Q for a bust
a few moments later the shoe ended and I was +600

Casinos are usually ghost towns on the day
itself, even Vegas. The Friday after is a zoo.
Quote: tringlomaneYeah, daytime is very sparse. Good luck Ace!
Only about half the tables open

thanks tringlomane
SC was excellent and I picked up 1k
trip is +1600
couldn't get near the tables. Sucked.
Quote: EvenBobAt 3pm the casino was so crowded I

It was below average here. GT was most likely busier due to the football game.

That's because most people are either cooking Thanksgiving dinner or eating it with their friends and families and or at a football game or watching it rather than sitting up in a Casino. The day after Thanksgiving, many people are given an extra day to be off, so then they will be sitting up in a Casino playing games.
out and there are people standing
behind every chair waiting for an
empty seat. Sucked is when they
average 12 spins an hour (it's usually
30-40) because the dealer has so many
payouts to make and they're the 2nd
string because all the regular dealers
got the holiday off.
Shoe 1: dealer had 5 natural blackjacks
Shoe 2: dealer had 4 natural blackjacks (I had a lowly 1)
Shoe 3: dealer had 6 natural blackjacks (I am starting to take this personally)
At this point, I had lost back the 1600 I was winning plus another 2k
I switched tables just to stretch my legs and get a new perspective
Shoe 4: I had a chance at 3 double downs in this shoe and 3 splits, which went as follows;
DD1: 5,5 v dealer 9--Drew an 8 for 18--dealer turns over a Queen for 19
DD2: 7,4 v dealer 10--Drew an 8 for 19--dealer turns over an Ace (she read the display wrong when checking - so They only took 1 of my chips)
DD3: 6,3 v dealer 6--Drew an Ace for 20--dealer turn over an Ace for 17 and I win!
Split1: Ace, Ace v dealer 2--draw a 2 on first Ace and a 4 on second Ace--dealer turns over a 10 then draws a 9 (just to rub it in lol)
Split2: 2,2 v dealer 3--draw a 5 then a Jack on first hand then draw a 10 and a 6 on second hand--dealer turns over an 8 and BAM a 10 for 21
Split3: 8,8 v dealer 8--draw an Ace on the first hand and a King on the second hand--dealer turns over an Ace
it was a roller coaster ride from hell but, as it stands at the moment, I am -1100 overall for the trip...stay tuned
trip.
out of my 5k buy-in for the day I was down to my last 300
A new shuffle began and I was finally able to begin kicking some a$$
got a very nice run and by the end of the shoe had gotten back to 3k
I'm exhausted and going to have a snack, watch some tv and go to bed and hope to turn the mountain of losses back into a molehill and finally into 6 feet under for the losses, creating a new mountain of wins!!!
sweet dreams
Sat down and asked for a game with Surrender - was told I could have it until the player who left a lamer at the table came back - I thought that strange since there would be a new shuffle and it was not a reserved game and they had no idea (according to the floor person) if or when the guy would even be back - oh well
Started off up and down, exchanging wins and losses with the dealer, including a few blackjacks
by the midway point of the shoe, I was actually ahead and, upon winning a double down
6,5 v dealer 6
I drew a 10 dealer turned over a King then busted with a 6, I had regained another 350
so now, the trip is -1650

My favorite kind of dealer bust. While all the other players are chanting for a "monkey" to bust that dealer 16, I secretly hope for a 6!
It seemed as if the dealer had a Face or Ace up 90% of the hands - how is that possible?!?
Within one hour, I was down to my last 900 for the trip so I decide to go big or go home and threw up a 400 bet -- here is how it went down:
I had 6,5 versus the dealer's 5
I doubled and was dealt an 8 for 19
The dealer turned over an 8 for 13 followed by an Ace, then another Ace, then another Ace for 16 and, to put the nail in the proverbial coffin, a 5 for 21 -- a 1600 swing -- I could've been on my way back to even Steven had I won that - of course, I smashed my fist onto the table and the dealer laughed - listen, now is not the time for laughter!!!
I switched tables, basically resigning myself to losing the final 200 I had for the trip and going home early -- apparently, the blackjack gods did not want me to leave just yet as, within one shoe, I took the 200 back up to 3k
as it stands now, the trip, rather than bein over, is -2100
dinner break time

It's just a schadenfreude roller coaster ride
for me. And it's Black Friday, I get to watch
the videos from Walmart in the South where
customers are beating each other up over
waffle irons and electric veggie steamers.
Ahhhhhh....

Are you also hoping I get food poisoning from my dinner? :-)

Just a mild form, you could keep playing
but would have to rush to the restroom
every 12min. You would make it 90%
of the time.

Considering I have Crohn's, that's par for the course

At least that leaves a 4.24% probability that he could go any given six hour period without soiling himself. Unfortunately, there is a 7.32% probability that he would defecate in his trousers AT LEAST six times in six hours.
I think Ace should just win at Blackjack instead.
so trip is now -300
Quote: aceofspadeswas watching a guy in high limit last night - he was betting 4K a hand , 2 hands at a time using all black chips - the stacks were ready to topple over (40 black chips high each) ridiculous
And they were paying him in Black too?
Quote: BozAnd they were paying him in Black too?
yup and he had orange in his stack
down only 500 now
Quote: GWAEHow could they pay him in black? Between the amount of chips he had and what would be in the bank, no way there would be enough to pay him in all black?
you're right--I'm lying lol
Quote: aceofspadesyou're right--I'm lying lol
I wasn't saying that. Was just curious how they handled it. Maybe they brought in a very large fI'll to make them happy or maybe he brought 50k in black chips to the table. Was just wondering the logistics of said thing happening.

I have seen people use tons of red chips and refuse to get colored up. Some people are just weird.

down only 500 now
Go, Ace, Go! <waving pom-poms>
taking a dinner break

B. I've seen this before :-)
Quote: EvenBobSo what happened, nothing in 24 hours.
Ughhhh cell phone reception and WiFi are among the worst in this particular AC store — it should have posted last night
So upon getting back to even, I took a dinner break — had some roasted chicken with rice :) quite yummy actually
Afterwards, I BS'd with various dealers and floor people and decided against playing anymore
After being down to my last 200 out of the bankroll for the trip, and getting all the way back to even, I figured I had had enough excitement already for the weekend and called it a trip :)

Thanks for the trip report Ace!
Didn't start reading until Sat evening. Didn't post cause, well you know, just read.
Glad you walked away about even, with more time you could have played.
I would prolly never have done that, and I prolly would have lost ;-)
Looking forward to your Vegas trip and tournament.
I'll be reading, I'll save any comments till it is over.
But I do wish you the best of luck, and variance, and all the other good stuff.. 2F
