Sucks to have those streaks, Ace. Take the extra day to reset, refocus, and RELAX! I'm sure someone with your stature at the casinos can get a free massage or something? I've never even had a professional massage, got to imagine it's very relaxing.
Quick question to confirm: In one of your last few threads I thought I recalled you saying you weren't even using SC? Are you just playing BS, or are you using SC as well? 100% of the time?
I am not sure what GN requires, or if they even offer quick-loss rebates. Otherwise, your T-Win will be the basis for what you get in comps. A brief duration of play at blackjack will not earn you much. For example, if you played 10 hours, 60 hands per hour, with an average bet of $200, then the GN may record your T-Win as approximately 10 x 60 x $200 x 1.5% = $1800. Based on your posts, I don't believe you bet that much on average, or played that long, so your T-Win as they recorded may be less.
Typically your discretionary comps (onsite perks not arranged in advance) may typically be limited to 5% of your T-Win, or about $90 in the example above (often the limitation on discretionary is 3% of T-Win). Their total budget for you (room, food beverage, show-up perks, and marketing) is limited to 30% to 40% of your anticipated T-Win. If you don't generate even this amount (because of a quick-loss), they may already view themselves as upside down to you. This view is correct.
When you think about it in these terms, maybe you can understand their point of view better. Your T-Win is not enough for you to be special to them, you are just your T-Win. Every loser is going to whine for more. To the casino, the amount you actually lost is not how much you lost. This is the mathematically correct way to view comps. If a casino thinks otherwise, they may find themself on the other side of "Don Johnson." and it's not pretty.
Blackjack players, especially, view themselves as worth a lot more than their actual value. A $3 slot player is worth far more than a $100 blackjack player. This misunderstanding by blackjack players happens everywhere and I hear it from casino marketing and DTGs everywhere. Casinos are used to blackjack players thinking that because they make large wagers, they are a valuable customer. The truth is, not so much.

Just lost all but 2 hands in 3 shuffles of double deck (including 6 doubles)
Holy sh$&
I have no idea what to do now
You still have that bottle of Gray Goose? Pour a drink and watch a movie. When I'm running bad I usually just watch a movie. It's cheaper. I have plenty of time to lose my bankroll. Never like to lose it all too soon.
I hope Aria treats you better. Good luck. I enjoy your reports but I enjoy them more when you're winning.
Maybe you need a monkey?
Go to "Insert Coins" and play some old video games from the 80's and 90's.
Drink a Scorpion Shot at "Nacho Daddy"
Check out the old Pullman car between Plaza and MSS. That will take up 5 minutes.
Have you done the Mob Museum? Easy to spend 2+ hours in there.
Walk 3 blocks up to "Gold and Silver" Pawn. Rick will be glad to offer you $500 for your Rolex.
Most of all, keep your head up and here's to better variance at Aria!!
Wish this was a joke.
Quote: RomesI'm glad you have a separate bankroll for Aria... I was going to say, if all you take for a trip BR is $5, um, I'm planning on taking more than that for my trip bankroll and I'm going to play red/green mins =p.

Yeah that's true - sometimes I use sometimes I don't - sometimes I am so stressed from work that I just want to give my brain a break from any tasks and just let the mindless basic strategy take over with SC (insert joke about SC being mindless here lol)

Where does one buy a monkey that forecasts cards to be dealt?
Quote: PerditionThey are installing a Mayweather Pac fight machine on Fremont street. They will have merch and VIP meet and greets so if your dream was to hang out with Buboy there you go.
Wish this was a joke.
That fight is generating a ton of buzz. I just don't get it. This would have been a great fight.............in 2009. Now it is just sad. It would be like watching Magic vs Bird in a game of 1 on 1 today.

Interesting ideas but the best one was to "keep your head up"
Thank you

when this global warming thing kicks in....maybe
BTW, it's in the 30's and snowing in the Detroit area right now.
Quote: aceofspadesYeah that's true - sometimes I use sometimes I don't...
Understandably so. Just be aware that when you're playing regular BS you're expected to lose. Okay maybe not every hand for 3 shoes lol, but you get my point! In a perfect mathematical world you'd put out your $100 bet, and you'd lose ~25 cents every hand, then you'd quit whenever you wanted.
Quote: aceofspadesWhere does one buy a monkey that forecasts cards to be dealt?
I was under the impression the monkey did not forecast cars, its power is that when it's presented the NEXT card will be a monkey (face card)! lol you should so try to find a little golden monkey and test its abilities at the tables when doubling down or you need the dealer to bust =D. If nothing else you might have more fun!

Quote: IbeatyouracesAt least our $15 million+ homes won't eventually fall into the ocean :-)
Eventually it will all fall into the ocean, it's one of those mathematical certainties everyone loves to rave about. But oceanfront in AZ is not something to invest in unless you gotta a really long timeline.
I think AoS luck is ready for a change.... I hope so. 2F
Very good by the book explanation, especially for a QL rebate.Quote: teliotIf you want a quick-loss rebate, you need to negotiate that in advance. On the strip, these rebates typically require a line of credit of $100k or more and an average wager of at least $1000. You sign a contract for your perks in advance of your play.
.
You can do it that way, but you seriously don't need to do all that BS.
AOS should add some VP/slots to his play if done right that would probably add significantly value.
AOS doesn't seem to be searching for value, he's searching for positive variance and entertainment.
Had he won 5k he probably wouldn't give free play/ chippies/ rebate a second thought.
That's the difference between recreational gamblers and AP's. Win lose or draw, AP's want that free play/chips/rebates. If an AP wins a ton of money but fails to get the extras, they are upset and feel as if they lost because they actually lost value.
ELIOTS ADVICE ? You deposited 100k or 100k credit line? 1000 a hand? good grief Ace.Quote: aceofspadesBased on teliot's and Axel's advice I negotiated a QL of 500 :-)
Ace has long conversation with host.

So now the Trip is -6500
Let the second half of the trip begin!
Probably had nothing to do with a QL. They probably would've gave it to him had he won.Quote: teliotThis sounds like a 5% QL. That's very generous of them. Good going.
I need a book called: F the long detailed AP information, explanations, charts, analysis, this is how you actually do it and make money.
To my readers:
The longest part of this book will be the title.
I know, I know, you have written off the ladies. Definitely +EV for the bankroll.
Go get 'em at Aria!
Quote: JoemanSorry to hear about your tough run, Ace. But congrats on wrangling that $500 QL rebate. Might I suggest you use it to take one of those *ahem* charming ladies you always seem to attract on Fremont St. out on the town tonight? ;)

...You are in Vegas. I'm sure there's a bar with some video poker and pretty girls around ;). Not saying you want/have to do anything, but maybe $20 for a drive around the block lol. We ask in the name of science, Ace. We need to know.

+$1480 EV

Darn it Ace... You're not listening, you're just posting. Don't concern yourself with how the player to your right plays their hand. The last card, or the next card, or the one after that, all have the same chance of being the card you need. Pretend you're surfing, watch the waves, watch the tides. Ride the good waves in bad tides and you're even. Ride the less bad waves in good tides, probably you're still even. What you are looking for is the good wave while the tide is working with you. That, when you catch it, that's about as good as it gets. If the waves are bad, and the tide is bad, get out of the ocean and go hang out on the beach. There's always going to be good waves tomorrow, or the day after that. And hey, the beach can surprise you too...2F

mean you're there? If B79 is desperately
looking for you, he needs to know
where you are. Wear a red hat so he
can spot you.
