Sat down to play a mini-session while waiting for room and in 2 shows was up 1200
Checked into the room and went back down to survey the scene and play some more...
High limit room had 4 tables open, 2 of which were RESERVED
Something that got on my nerves was the dealer's fingers (2 female dealers had band aids on them) and the cards were sticking with each draw from the shoe--made for a dizzying stutter effect
So I began the next session playing one on one
First hand was 7,7 v dealer 7
Split
First hand: 7,4 doubled got an 8 for 19
Second hand: 7,10 for 17
Dealer had 7, turned over a 4...drew a 3 then a 7
Ughhhhh
The next two shoes were more of the same, losing 7 of 9 (no Star Trek reference intended)

You must be at the Revel. Oh, wait.

Could be GN. He can get surrender on request in high limit.

I knew it was GN when when you said
they had reserved tables. I've seen
roulette tables reserved at GN. Nobody
playing, just sitting there, reserved.
At your level of play you can have RFB at any club in town, and you choose the one that is currently the closest existing incarnation of Mission's Revel Nursing Home idea.
Is late surrender that important to you? I would think having a good time is far more important to you than a slightly better blackjack game. Also other properties have the benefit of comping you things you'd actually like and enjoy.

It's NOT a nursing home, those are for people who require around-the-clock care: it's an assisted living facility.

Why do you have so much respect for such an obvious corporate-speak euphemism? Assisted-living facility is just a marketing term. They're all nursing homes. Different patients require different levels of care in any type of facility.
Quote: aceofspadesIt's the only place in town where I have a host--I gave up all my Total Rewards stuff when I began playing at Revel - I basically have no TR play for the past 3 years
Go into any club, lose 3800 in a few hours and you will have a host.

I have a hard time following your posts. Sometimes you say you haven't been to Atlantic City in the last 30 years, sometimes you talk about first-hand knowledge of table conditions at casinos that are 3 years old...
Quote: rdw4potusSometimes you say you haven't been to Atlantic City in the last 30 years, .
I was talking about Vegas. I have suspected
they put reserved on them because they
don't have enough dealers. It makes no
sense to be crowded and have a closed
roulette table just sitting there. Keep it
open till the person it's reserved for arrives.
Going to try and get a little bit back at a time over the course of the evening
Dinner break and then try to slowly climb back

And each state specifies specific criteria of need and care to determine the level of care. Each name connotes an extremely specific different level of service and responsibility in each state.Quote: sodawaterWhy do you have so much respect for such an obvious corporate-speak euphemism? They are different, there are different license requirements, staffing requirements and everything like that. Assisted living facilities, as I have stated, are mostly just for people that have physical limitations. Nursing homes are for people that require around the clock care and observation, shots, BP/Heart monitoring, catheters, things of that nature. A nursing home is a medical facility in the truest sense whereas an assisted living facility is more of a residential facility with assistance.

Lost it all
Down 4500 goodbye
So, I wont say, 'pat you on the back and tell you it will be okay', but when you go back next time, smack them back and take an exit when you are positive. Only you know the amount that you can lose and the amount you should leave when ahead. Be positive and never look back, never.
I am so incensed - is 4500 a big deal - not really but it is the way in which I lost it - 10 f'ng Blackjacks you've got to be f'ng kidding me
Props to you, AoS! Hang in there pal.
Quote: aceofspadesdealer made 10 yes 10 f'ng blackjacks in one shoe!!!!!! I pounded the table so hard my right forearm is completely numb

Six decks, 75% penetration, heads up, 5.4 hands per round, blackjack every 21 hands on average. Looks like, statistically, the dealer should have had two blackjacks. Fifteen minute shoe?
Quote: chaunceyb3I had an unexpected rendezvous with Ace at GNAC earlier tonight, and afterwards, it was all decent hands at the Pai Gow Tiles table for the rest of the night.

Holy shit that's a sexy tiles hand.

Should I go home or stay and go after it?
The same as sitting down at a baccarat table and having natural 8 or 9 and the other side ties or beats you for like 15 times in one shoe, unusual but happens more often then you think possible. Again, I can win 25 straight hands with a 6 or less in baccarat but then when I get a 7-8-or 9, I cant prevail. I blame the gambling gods, no one else.
Quote: aceofspadesShould I go home or stay and go after it?
No one call that but you. My personal experience is, a losing trip is a losing trip. I stated before I think on the board, If I have to keep buying back in, it isn't going to happen. AGAIN, that's me and my trend/traits. I would have to soul search long and hard to remember wining/recovery when I lost a sizable or all my bankroll and then drew out more or went and got more and then recovered.
Quote: aceofspadesShould I go home or stay and go after it?
As long as you have the advantage play away. Past results are meaningless. Here's wishing you good cards!
Been up and down
Dealer made 21 or BJ the first 7/10 hands in the last shoe I played - then things turned around

BJ sucks, take up bac. You'll have more fun,
lose less, bet less, and the table energy is
much better. You can't screw up another
players hand and he can't screw up yours.
So you end up all rooting for each other,
it makes a big difference in the type of experience
you're having.
Down 6900 ***correction

Not the most you ever lost, BJ sucks. Frank said
in an interview that he lost $12K at BJ once and
had to go to his room and lie in the fetal position
for a few hours. Nobody likes to lose.

At times correct but tell the other half. At the big table--south side versus the north side; Asians against whites; table min player attempting to knock out the larger players; larger players refusing to get un an unbelievable long streak and losing hundreds of thousands, etc., etc., the lost goes on and on.
